A few months ago, after borrowing an M5 demonstrator, I posted on here about how irrelevant modern performance cars are. Utterly disappointed that I was prepared to place an order for an M5 and found it slightly soulless, and essentially like driving a 530d unless you were doing silly speeds.

And then I borrowed a C63 demonstrator. What a completely different beast. Fun and bonkers at any speed, with a sound that was much more enticing than the synthetic BMW affair. Sure, ultimately not as honed as the E92 M3's I owned, but much more of an event and, more importantly, it put a grin on my face as soon as I turned the key (yes, a rare breed of car WITHOUT a starter button).

Utterly awesome. Utterly bonkers. The sort of engine we won't see the like of very soon. Mine arrives next month. And with the offers Merc were throwing at it, it seems a bloody bargain too.

Corrected for accuracy.

Oh, and I whole heartedly agree. These are salient reasons as to why I have ordered one too. thumbup

If you don't mind me asking what kind of a deal did you get? I'm using a European dealer and they don't seem keen to budge too much.

There's a generic deal being offered here by MB on the C63: ~£7.5k dealer deposit contribution if you take their Agility finance PCP scheme. It means £6k down by the customer and £599/month.

Annoys the hell out of me that they do that in one EU country but not another!

Yep, as much as people moan about the UK at least our car prices, both new and second hand, are reasonable (I'm excluding the USA in the new car comparison bit).

Earlier this year, whilst I was living in Austria, I priced up a C63 to the same level as a standard UK spec C63 and it came to just over 100k Euros. Crazy!

100k EUR = £80k eek

By the way, MB have adjusted their PCP deal - lower APR at 4.9% but slightly lower dealer contribution at £6.6k. Works out to be roughly the same overall deal as before.

I think the supply/demand issues are reducing the need for MB to give further discounts unfortunately.

So bascially with the 7k dealer discount the case price is £50,000 ish and you then add on your options? So If I have 12k of options looking about 62k? I reckon looking more like 75k down here.

Yes, but you only get the 7k discount if you take the MB Agility finanace I think. The options add more than you (well, definitely me!) expect though. For example, a quote I happened to have in my pocket (from a couple of weeks ago so on the previous finance plan)

C63 Coupe + PP + LSD + Silver 19" wheels
Price (base model + options - discount): £58184
Deposit: £5995
35 monthly payments: £775.28

as opposed to 35 monthly payments of £599 on the standard car, so about an extra £6125 over the 3 year period

Regarding the options, yes they are expensive. Prices below, albeit for the saloon:
PP = £5,200
LSD = £1,745
Silver 19"s = £625
TOTAL = £7,570

I know the above prices are for the saloon, but it's only the PP that could be different (carbon boot spoiler), however the above does show that there is residual value associated with PP.

I walked away with £9k contribution from the dealer after specing and got the paint guard thing (sry can't remember what called) thrown in as well on top...

I just sat there and said no until they eventually gave in to my demands.

That's a 9k contribution for the Mercedes finance deal though right, not 9k off list buying it outright?

Yep but im fine with paying a few months of financing and then pay it off. There are no exit penalties bar 1 mths interest I think which is a little less than 9k...

Okay thanks. So basically you can get the finance, get a 9k contribution and then pay off the finance and pay a small penalty. Yet my dealer here will probably charge more than UK list price - hard to swallow I think, might have to look for something else!

Just hit 1000 miles in mine and also did the AMG track day in one at MB World last week.

Fantastic car, you won't regret it if you go for one.

Congrats Marky.
I think these C63s are amazing value for money with the current dealer incentives. In some futile attempt to justify my man-maths I worked out it would cost around £9000 to spec a normal C-class to something approaching the standard spec of the C63!
