On mine at 55k miles in 2.5 years now. Mine has only been on track once for a couple of laps. Wouldn't really recommend it as a track car at all. It really kills the tyres (Conti 5P's) and brakes.
Havin said that, I'm still on my original set of brake disks and pads. At 55k miles!! That is bloody impressive.
Rear tyres, I reckon 7k miles out of a set is average going. Fronts probably 15-18k miles.
Other than that the car is bullet proof. Did have one minor mishap last month when one of the power steering hoses burst and dumped the power steering fluid. Mercedes Assist collected it within 20 minutes, I had an E-Class replacement car within and hour and had my own car back in just over 24 hours. Good service.

Bluetooth is standard on all Medcedes C-Class cars. You don't need COMAND. HK is ok, don't know if I'd bother with it again. DAB is nice. If you like to switch the traction control off and slide the car around then you need the LSD. If you never switch it off then no need for the LSD. The ride on 18's is much better, you can get winter tyres that fit, and you can also get the excellent Conti 5P tyre which you can't get in the 19" sizes. As for the Performance Pack Plus I don't have it, and think it is an expensive option. I have never once thought, you know what, this car needs more power... The engine is stonking. It gets better as it gets more miles on it too.
Only thing I would do is try and find a nice facelift car to get the newer MCT gearbox.
Other than that, go for it. They are brilliant every day cars.
Music to my ears Jack. Hoping to join the throng soon...

You can put Conti 5's on the 19" rim. 265 fit like a glove.

They aren't the N0 5P's thought.
Not sure exactly what the difference is between 5 and 5P. All I know is that the AMG development driver I spoke to said they never type-approved the 5P for the 19" wheel on the C63. He had no idea why not as it was his favourite tyre he tested during the cars development.

Excellent. If you ever want to come out in mine for a bot, just shoot me an email and we'll arrange a meet up.

Mmmmm. What problems would this cause *not* running the N0 5P's? I know Porsche will void the (extended) warranty if you don't run their approved rubber (N2's i think?). Not heard of Merc stipulating similar though?

That's very kind of you Jack. smile

I might well take you up on that. It's a facelifted Coupe that I'm keen on.

OT - Yours and Mike's Spa and 'ring trip looked pretty epic! Spa's a truly amazing circuit isn't it?! smile

the speed the rear tyres need to be replaced is shocking.

From this thread I'm hearing C63 rears don't last very long but is this due to the type of driving being done ie A and B road stop, start and fast cornering or are we talking the usual motorway commute ?

I'm running a S5 mostly motorway and I'm getting 25k to 30k miles + on a set of tyres due to this.

Other threads have mentioned alignment/geometry being the cause. From memory there is some toe in the standard settings and if you get this adjusted to zero toe, rear tyre wear is dramatically improved. Unless you keep doing burnouts. smile

Mine has done over 8K on the same tyres - just had it serviced and there's over 5mm still! I don't hang around, but neither do I do burnouts. Maybe the BS has a different geo set-up??

They are relatively skinny, and are attached to a relatively heavy RWD car with 450+BHP and lots of torque, that is generally bought by people who like to use the performance, so I suspect that most owners will eat through them quickly.

I decided when I bought mine to ignore running costs, as looking at it rationally I'd never take it out of the garage. I'm just hoping it'll make it London - Newcastle on a tank, but I have my doubts.
