That was a 1000 miles last week in my AMG C63 Black Series: I had to visit a customer site in the depths of Germany, so rather than flying and hiring a VW Up or Polo as per normal, I decided to give my MB a proper run out and stretch it's legs on the German Autobahn! The plan was to drive from Cheshire to Hull on Monday late afternoon, night crossing to Rotterdam, call at the 'ring on the way past (slight detour!) on Tuesday lunch and arrive then at the customers site PM Tuesday and reverse run on Friday to get home Sat morning.
WHAT A CAR! I've had (and got) some nice cars over the years, but so impressed with my AMG. The acceleration even when in triple figures is awesome. The autobahns were all fairly busy and rain showers ever so often, so only managed to 'open the taps up fully' on a few occasions!
I had one colleague with me on the way out, and two on the way back - all three of us fairly big guys, but even with the boot full (including an engineers toolbox!) and bags on the back seat, indecent speeds were reached biggrin
In summary - 1054miles, at a trip average of 21.8 mpg, average speed across Germany to Rotterdam 83 mph. 5 fuel fill ups tongue out
Holland had to fill up with their V Power 95 Octane , but in Germany V Power was 100 Octane??

Germans use more fuel then the Dutch, so they get better quality, 100 octane v-power makes a lot of cars run much better.
The Black is truly awesome!

Extremely fast! - shouted up by my passenger! I was concentrating on what was happening over the 1/2mile down the road! Things happen very quickly at those velocities; one very good reason that the 'Blacks' brakes are equally as impressive!
We also outran a 'new' M3 - for some reason he slowed at 155! biggrin

Absolutely beautiful car, couldn't think of anything more fitting than a trip down the Autobahn in that, certainly beats flying by a cramped budget airline!

Back to German next week, driving again! And this time I've gotten organised and made arrangements to take a detour to visit Affalterbach for a one-on-one tour!
Quite looking forward to it!
