Hi Folks,

A friend has a 2012 C63 AMG (non power pack) and wants a bit more noise...

Does anyone have any recommendations on what exhaust to go for?

I have to say I know very little about Mercedes in general , so thought I would refer to yourselves smile.

Thanks,
Neil

No need to change the exhaust, just de-cat it or go for 200 cell cats. You might even get a bhp increase. I believe the OEM exhaust is Eisenmann which is about as good as it gets.

I reckon a stock C63 sounds outrageous enough as it is!

Rebellion Automotive with Wortec have developed a switchable exhaust. Best of both worlds, I have heard it in person, no video does this justice.

It gives you a rough idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkf6xA480Rc

Awesome folks thanks for the replies.

I believe Milltek do an option that removes one set of cats.

Has anyone had success with that? Engine lights appearing??

Could be worth talking with Eisenmann too, I understand they produce the OEM AMG exhausts:

The thing is, if you get an exhaust that is loud all the time, you will very likely lose any refinement at cruising speed.

I know that I could not stand to have a loud droning exhaust on my AMG. The appeal of the C63 is that it does so many things well. It'll cruise as quiet as a mouse (ish), or be an utter hooligan.

Not sure where abouts your based but Martin at http://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/ did my SLK 55 and my mates 2011 C63 Coupe both sound awesome.

He's also done several others and I can highly recommend him..

Thanks for all the replies. Loads of info, thats been of great help.

I too am keen that the car isn't ruined by drone or excess noise.

This is why I feel removing the secondary cats via the Milltek option may well be a safe bet, as its not too expensive either.

Does anyone agree?

That's what was done on mine and it still sounds the same as standard when at motorway cruising speeds.

Awesome photos...

Did you notice any difference in how the car drives?

I'm more tempted with the Milltek option as I believe it is bolt in??

I.e. reversable?

I doub you'd notice any difference in all honestly with drive ability. What's the cost of the milltek?

It's more from the X pipe, on V8s I believe it can play quite a part in the power band of the car...

The Milltek is around £400.

Guys, any updates on the Milltek Secondary cat bypass option? Has anyone fitted to a C63?
