yes

She also "loves" it when I crack the windows open in a tunnel and make an ungodly racket. I was quite noisy through the Hindhead tunnel this afternoon! biggrin

I've only seen one C63 being driven by a knob - doing 50 mph down a busy 30mph urban street. I have found C250 CDI Coupe owners who think they own a C63 are more of an issue! (although in isolation with 201 bhp and 369lb ft, they are actually pretty quick in a straight line for a four-pot diesel)

This was part of the reason my dad parted with his Carerra 4S...I was the same when I drove it. I'm not anywhere near as bad in my M135i but it still brings out the worst in me sometimes....time and a place n all that.

I find this thread quite interesting having experienced owning a C63 for a short time. I found myself driving the car to it's limits (In Germany) only to be whipped by an SLS whilst I was on the limit. I did not think there would be anything that could touch the C63 but was astonished at the ease at which the SLS caught me and left me feeling like I was standing still. Without taking anything away from the C63 I made a decision and went out and traded it in for my current car which is as you have probably guessed an SLS. I think the C63 was the easiest to drive of the two but saying that I have not had the SLS in Germany yet so I will let you know when I go there in May stopping off at the factory for the obligatory gearbox upgrade. Bottom line is all AMG drivers have to hold a certain skill level and although you feel like your sometimes driving like a hooligan the truth is AMG vehicles are fine tuned equipment and require fine tuned drivers to operate them safely.

It's one of the reasons I got rid of mine. Someone called it the AMG effect.

Going back to AMG this coming week (E63) and I must admit, whilst not exactly "Driving Miss Daisy", I've never really noticed a detrimental effect on my driving with them. My last was an E55 a few years ago. If anything I tend to be slower than in a standard saloon/hatch as I feel that there's nothing to prove in a 500+bhp. I know it's nippy, sod anyone else.

The XFR which is going in p/x however... (especially with the Spires exhaust smile)

I may admit to some seriously spirited driving on those nice summer Sunday mornings though

Unbelievable. This thread has become quite embarrassing.

Don't you know about the special extra training and DVLA issued AMG license category that is available to owners? Nope me neither.

I must be in the minority but the c63 makes me drive very slowly is urban conditions......it's a loud car and I don't like to attract attention so tend to poodle about at the speed limit..

Sunday mornings in the countryside are a different matter....

Such is the beauty of the amg......regular comuter car by day, monster on the weekend!

I've been loaned a CLS63 for a few days by a very nice dealer and I have to say that it certainly affected my driving style on untreated roads this morning, I was Miss Daisy. Very good car though, I'm impressed with the steering feel and the brakes, fit and finish seem very good as well though some of the controls are a little fiddly. The engine and noise are as expected, but the drive train and handling are above what I hoped for, an excellent package that seems capable of cruising and bruising depending on the mood and conditions. I would put it ahead of the anodyne RS6, M5 up next.

I had a 2010 E63 and even though i've never hung around as a driver my friends quickly named the car the OMG with how i used to drive it. I recently sold the OMG and got a 640bhp GTR and i find that make me drive even more like an arse, mainly i think because other road users dont see "just another Mercedes" in their mirror so they get out of your way and "allow" me to more easily drive like a hooligan

Haha I have had my C63 coupe less than 24 hours and already my missus says "that button changes something and I don't like it!" Lucky for me then she has work this weekend and I don't!!!!!
