Hi guys, my dad currently has a 2009 (MY59) E Class 350 cdi with onl 15k miles on the clock (second car) in silver with recently repainted black alloys. With the exception of a small scuff on the front bumper the car is in excellent condition and has a great spec (tints, auto, heated leather electric seats, reversing camera, sat nav etc.) I was just wondering what you think a decent trade in or private sale price would be on this? (he is the second owner I believe and the car had a service yesterday at an independent specialist).

He likes the look of the C63 and the one below is local to us. Just wondered what you think about the price of this one...

Thanks in advance,

Martin

I did look at 2010 C63 recently with 18k on clock at a Mercedes dealer. It would have sold for around £30k. It was ex-lease and basic spec; it did not have SatNav, the 19" wheels nor such a smart interior but otherwise it seemed much the same. Would have had one year Tier 1 warranty as approved used.

Is the car you are looking at car worth up to £8k more? Probably.

Thanks Kevin - nobody else who can help with this one? I just want to help him to get the best deal.

Cheers.

I feel it's a little pricey. I got my 2010 car 2 years old and with lots of options for around £34k, the only option this seems to have is the 19s?

Having said that, if 2010 cars are still worth 30k, I guess it doesn't seem bad

I'd need to look at what the standard spec is as the advert states 'big spec' so I assumed there were plenty of options on it.

I tend to agree about the spec, the only upgrade seems to be the 19" wheels which were about £600 or so when new. The upholstery colour is very nice but a non-cost option. I bought my 61Reg last year from a main dealer for £37.5k. Mine had done a very similar mileage, had a lot more options (over £5k's worth) including the black 19" rims which are nearly £1k more than the silver ones. It had just had it's second service and brand new tyres all round prior to going on sale.

On the face of it I'd say it was a bit overpriced as the 'big spec' isn't much more than standard plus it's not a main dealer for which you'd expect a small premium.

just looking at it again, and its definitely overpriced.

looks like a really lazy dealer also, they've cut and pasted the initial spec from another car, according to the blurb at the front it has roof rails, front cloth and 17 inch wheels... The only thing that is an option that he's listed is the 19s and (maybe) the ebony wood trim, comand, sunroof, leather seats are all standard.

you'd be better off going for this very high spec car, from a main dealer

its got the performance pack, HK sound system, DAB radio, locking diff, reverse camera, and 19s

edit: bugger, just noticed you're in scotland and this is in brighton...

still, fun drive back!
