I have Merc (62 Reg) B180 without Sat nav, but all the right buttons & symbols.
I have seen "genuine" kits to fit, but am sceptical. Local dealer will fit a real genuine kit, but at a serious cost. Any one any ideas? or keep using the old Tom Tom?
Bit off topic, but amazingly it doesn't have Cruise control either! Any ideas/ recommendations?

Does it have the slot for the Becker nav module in the glove box? I'd have thought it would do at that age.
Much more cost effective option that a four figure sum for COMAND.

You can get the modules for a couple of hundred quid off ebay.

Dont know about the really new Mercs but everytime I have tried to come up with a quote to retrofit anything on a Merc its been a whole heap of pain. In the end I have come to accept the car as is without any changes. Mercs are TOO clever for their own good.

It is not as if a B180 is a super rare beast, so why not save you a lot of trouble and get one with a satnav factory fitted?

Assuming its the W246 with the centre screen and stuff then all you need is the Becker module from eBay for about £300. Very simple and easy to slot into place. Cheap and no messing about with dismantling the interior.

In my opinion it is pretty hard to justify the cost of optioning factory fitted Sat Nav in the first place, let alone doing it as a retrofit. I would make do with the Tom Tom and if you really have had enough of it make sure you tick the Sat Nav box on the options list of your next car

I think it must be as the OP says it has all the right buttons and symbols.

The Becker system has to be one of the best available - certainly in terms of cost when it comes to "factory fit". I got mine back in June 2012 and it went into my new SLK, and it's just been transplanted into my 2014 new one. Not bad for £225. biggrin
