After my Cerbera this C32 is very economical in every way so far. I service all my cars, just completed the "A" service Oil 5W-30 MB 229.51, MBFleece oil Filter , Mann Air filters, Reset service counter via you tube, job done.

Left the cabin filter as a quick vacuum was like new!

I have had my C55 since February this year and love it. Getting 22mpg avg and on a motorway run actually saw 29 mpg!

Needed a Service A a few months ago which only cost £150 at Alex Crow in Stowmarket, Suffolk. He specialises in Mercedes and I was very pleased with his work. One of the Xenon headlamps failed and it needed a new control box which I got off ebay and Alex fitted for just £70. Cant argue with that.

If you have a Merc I would recommend going to Alex.

I run a C43T and E55 and parts prices used to be horrific, but if you shop about for the parts, you can make massive savings.

Zimmerman and Pagid do OE spec discs for less than £100 per pair now, when the cheapest you could find would be over £300 and you can get the proper Bosch spark plugs for less than £80, so huge savings on dealer supplied prices.

I had a C55 for a couple of years and found in surpringly cheap. The engines arent under much of a strain and fuel wasnt to bad (compaired to the s4 b6 I had before).

For all Servicing I used A1 Autos in Surrey, Indy merc/AMG specialist and really know their stuff.

Only problems with mine was the aircon which I believe had a slow leak, never bothered getting it fixed as had a sunroof.

If you get one, have the centre resonator taken out, perfect sound and will cost next to nothing. Mine sounded epic, but not too much if you know what I mean.

Great car for the money.

Body kit elements, brakes, exhausts are the bespoke bits on most cars. £3k for a front bumper for my CLK63...

I can't praise Waterhouse Braintree enough. Main dealer but prices and attention to detail can't be topped. Don't waste your time with Bishops Stortford Mercedes. Muppets.

This seems like one of those questions that deserve the 'If you have to ask, you can't afford it' retort. However, I'm trying to make the fairly rational decision for my next car. I test drove a C55 AMG yesterday and loved the idea of it - Supersaloons are the epitome of cool to me. Like hot hatches on coke...

However, I cannot find any good information on the service costs for one and it's scaring me in pulling the trigger on an unknown quantity. The car in question needs a Service B in the next 5000 miles and I can only find the MB Main D(st)ealer numbers, which are a bit eye watering at £~900+. That's even worse than the Z4M I had for the last 2 years. So, the questions are:

1) What is the typically service schedule of a C55 AMG? Does it go Service A, Service B, Service A, Service B?
2) AMG specialists - how much would they typically charge for non-supplied parts for these services?
3) Any in Essex/South-East?

My Google-skills have let me down this time.
Servicing is between £300-£600

There's a firm called Motorvation near Thurrock who I used to use when living in Essex I can't fault their work.

I haven't dealt with them since I had my C43 serviced there many moons ago. Just interested to know why you think they're muppets........

So, to answer my own question, Sean is still there and Waterhouse in Braintree have just finished giving the S65 a very thorough post purchase inspection (I know, I know...). Sensible advice, sensible bill, will be going back there when a service is required. thumbup
