Woops!! Gone and bought another red one!
Discussion
After a very quick tour of the dealerships, considering everything including a new M5, new RS6 etc I settled on a car i'd never even driven and haven't yet seen in this colour. A friend who runs the local MB dealership had literally just spec'd it up with all the trimmings as 'something different' to put in the showroom. As soon as i saw the mock up and some nice figures i thought 'yeah, why the hell not?'. A change is as good as anything. We agreed the deal and i got to drive a white one home as a tester.
I hadn't intended to drop down the capacity bracket by this much having had a C5 RS6, an M5 Tourer and a C63 as my last 3 cars but these little cars are bonkers fun. Even in standard guise they are nearly as quick as my tuned C63, but with more grip. Obviously i'll be picking up a stage 1 tune to fit when it arrives and when i do the car will be eating tuned C63's for breakfast. Stage 1 A45's are consistently knocking 0-60 times out in under 4s. 0-100 is in the mid 8's. And the sound it makes when you shift!!!! It's like and old school rally car!!
I'm quite excited by the change. The best thing is that it doesn't need a run in service so i can 'drive it' from the off. Win! Should be in the country some time this week and i'll pick it up as soon as it's prepped.

Congratulations!
How 'nice' were the figures Eddie? I didn't think that these were being discounted by much?
He gave me 100% of his allowance. Deal was in line with that of a base spec C63 given the options on my A45. Merc are trickle feeding these cars which will help me come sale time in 2016 / 17. My dealer is only getting 4 cars before next years reg allocation. I think that's what he said anyway. How 'nice' were the figures Eddie? I didn't think that these were being discounted by much?

If the number of A45 AMGs I see knocking about around Ascot is anything to go by, the local dealer is either getting the bulk of UK allocation or this is a nice sales line the sales guys are spinning. Will be looking forward to reading about your experiences of the change from the C63. I hope its everything you hope for
Looks great Eddie. I went round the MB brooklands track in one, very impressive. It was yapping at the heels of some much more expensive AMG cars round the tight track, great pops and crackles from the exhaust.
Will be interesting to hear how you find the switch to 4wd 4 pot hatch, I've got a Golf R coming in October to replace the SLK. I am thinking its day to day usability might make my C63 redundant of an early Sunday morning drive, time will tell.....
Been looking at the stats at the back of autocar;
0-60
C63 4.4
A45 4.2
Golf R 4.8
0-100
C63 9.7
A45 11.5
Golf R 12.0
30-70
C63 3.4
A45 4.3
Golf R 4.3
However, both the Golf and A45 look very tuneable though and bring them into C63 territory - Revo claim 3.7 to 60 and 9.2 to 100 on the Golf R and I see rebellion have similar figures for the A45 tuning box.
