CL65 engine problem, HOW MUCH!!!!
Discussion
A good friend of mine has a customer that he normally supplies cars to, thankfully he did not supply this one ( although he did buy the p/ex)
CL 65 40 months old, low mileage, solid Merc service history, sounds like it has a misfire, main dealer diagnoses a split cylinder bore, ( or liner if it has one)
They have quoted £57,000 for a replacement engine, how goods that?

I can't help with the unfortunate situation here, but it may be worth contacting AMG GmBH and/or MB UK. If the car has been carefully (perhaps main dealer) serviced all its life, then there may be some contribution they could offer.
I can't imagine they would like the thought of their flagship car having such problems.
They could of course just be interested in running a business and tell you to buy an engine, but just a thought!
Failing that, perhaps a used unit from a breaker car or it may be cheaper to find a decent indy to do a rebuild.
Of course, this could be an opportunity to go knocking on the door of a tuner if spending tens of thousands is the only option
