Have decided to put a new battery on my car, is there a "way to do it" or do you just disconnect the old and reconnect the new? Wondered if there was any risk to the electronics, I remember on my TVR having to do something odd to stop it getting the hump.

I think on yr MY you have to re-set the windows rollbar etc.

Try asking here, they seem to have a lot of the answers.

As far as I recall the tow things you have to do are:

1. open and close the windows fully to reset the window drop-down function when the doors are opened
2. turn the steering wheel from full-lock one way to full-lock the other. This resets the ABS and/or traction control.

I don't think you need to do anything with the roll-bar.

Thanks both. The two scenarios sound more like masonic recognition signs lol.

It is important to lower the windows prior to changing the battery, not doing this will lead to the drop down function not operating and the door is effectively stuck! With the new battery installed raise and lower the windows to reset them. I recently blew my central locking PSE pump due to someone jump starting the car incorrectly.

Well, seems painless enough- run through the reset procedures as advised- lets see what happens.
