C250 cdi sport possible gearbox issue anyone had this before

I have a 2012 C250 CDI SPORT done about 57k and has been without fault until this morning.
It seems to be very much down on power, acceleration takes an age to get to 50 mph revs are at 1800 rpm at 40mph and the kick down results in a bit more noise but nothing in the way of acceleration. Downshifts are very jerky too. It reminds me of limp home mode on a jag but there are no lights on indicating a fault.
I will take it to the stealership tomorrow for a check it's still under manufacturers warranty so no problem there. I just wondered if anyone had suffered anything similar and if so what was the cause.
Hopefully it s a software update and I'm on the way to work. !
