Hi, I am fairly sure that the crank sensor on my v6 diesel is on its last legs. I have the new part but I'm darned if I can see how to fit it. I can't even locate the existing one.

Any of you guys able to help and tell me where it is !

Thanks

Tim

It's on the left hand top side of engine at back & accessed from under the car. You'll need to remove under trays & then look up on left hand side. It's mounted into top of transmission bell housing case. The sensor has a small heat shield over it to protect it from the exhaust which is held in place by a small torx bolt. Once the shield is out of the way there is another smaller torx bolt holding sensor in place.
All I advise is make sure you don't attempt the job when engine is hot as you'll end up burning your arms & hands. It's not to bad to change & shouldn't take you too long to change once you get your bearings & see where it is.

Many thanks, I will give it a go at the weekend. I guessed it was from below after I spent an hour peering in the engine bay.
