Anyone ordered an AMG GT-S yet?
Discussion
Thanks for the feedback guys - I thought it might be a touch more controversial! I didn't get chance today but I have to lock this down tomorrow and I'm wavering - mainly because I'm still not sure on the brown interior. I really like white and it goes so well with blue (see below!) but know it's a right PITA. The black alcantara with red highlights is also nice but it has to be on a red, black or silver car. I'll probably stick to the blue/brown unless I take the risk on Hyancinth.....but it appears to be so variable:
Outstanding
Or not so good
I do have a history of interesting colour combo's.....
SLS - black and dark brown
M6 - blue and white

hyacinth red is light sensitive ..
in bright sun light, it looks red and really striking
in low light or cloudy conditions, there is definitely a hint of bronze which makes it look a touch insipid
the shape of the car also affects how hyacinth red looks .. on cars with large panels of sheet metal, you see more of the bronze hint.
IMO, hyacinth is not red enough, and worse, in certain lights, looks 'confused'

MBUK Have got some extra allocation for build slots this year - another 20ish in Sept/Oct, obviously all GTS's.
Extra allocation already! Not too long to wait until the massive discounts then? I am definitely going to wait a few months until the dealers have too many sitting around. Right then, spec has been finalised - I stuck to my guns and ordered the Brilliant Blue / Saddle Brown combo.....and hope I don't regret it!
Comparing the two colour swatches (Brilliant Blue & Hyacinth Red), both looked darker than I expected but the red even more so. That said, both looked liked they would be outstanding in the sun. The brown leather went much better with the blue whereas if I'd ordered the red car, I probably would've had to go for the black leather/alcantara combo.
Delivery date is confirmed as early August so I guess that means I'll be waiting until 1st September anyway - I may as well wait for a 65 reg

Gary our demo should be here in 4/5 weeks if you want to pop in for a blast.

I bottled it today....and changed my order to Hyacinth Red. I've spent the last 3 months having mentally decided on red so the relatively last minute change to blue caused too much confusion for me
What concerned me was some of the pictures I've seen of a blue car in the 'wild' made it look too dark and, well, a bit plain. Admittedly some pictures of the blue looked outstanding, but typically these were the promo or press shots. Also, I didn't think flat red was an option on a car of this value - whilst it looks decent in all the promo shots, it's very ordinary when you see normal pictures of the car.
I've seen enough pictures of Hyacinth Red in different light to know what to expect - it can look a bit darker than I'd like but in good light, it seems to look outstanding. Ultimately, at their worst, I don't think the red looks as dull as the blue. If only the SLS's shade of metallic red was available
I've kept the interior spec the same (quilted saddle brown/tan) but I did change the wheels back to the standard item rather than the upgraded forged multi spokes - I think the thinner longer pokes of the standard wheel suit the red car better.
