Stunning motor Gary.decided to go large eh? When do you expect delivery. What spec
Yes I did - I was all planning on staying around £100K and then two hours at McLaren Birmingham changed all that biggrin

No spec required at the moment - as soon as my production slot opens up, approximately four months before delivery, then I need to provide the spec. That should be around December with an April delivery.

I will hopefully see a number of physical cars before then as I have gone from Silver to Black to McLaren Orange and back to black over the last week. Then there's the dark interior vs two-tone and the leather vs Alcantara argument.

Hopefully I'll have decided by December spin

That does look good.

I ended up ordering McLaren 540C but have to say I may still be persuaded by the GT.
Really? Wow! I've just cancelled my 675 LT order. Too bland - and at 37mm extra does not make it a long tail in my eyes! I'm sure the performance will be EPIC - but it's too generic for me. Good to see an English company up there - and with a great products on the horizon........

Good Luck with you 540/570!

Cheers! Closest I've ever owned to the McLaren is an Audi R8 so I am super excited.

You'll probably be more interested in P14 say my spidey senses! smile

So drove the GT-S today on the road. Will write some more detailed feedback, but short version is it felt fantastic. Steering is very light indeed (so will take some time to work out front grip levels) but the noise is tremendous and the gear change is massively improved over the SLS.

Apparently, mine left the factory yesterday ... but there are still seemingly lots of unknowns over exact deliver dates for the very early cars.

AMG GT pisses all over the Maclaren 540 in my opinion. its the worlds greatest carmaker vs someones first try, so the Maclaren is still amazing for what is a first attempt but sorry - just look at the AMG GT inside and out. No contest.

Poverty spec GT for me wink

. In what way? I have looked at both in the last month but would imagine the McLaren will be the more exclusive car as Mercedes will roll out parts of the design onto other cars in the range. They are already giving the CLS the same style grill as the GT.

The mclaren looks like a kit car, AMG GT looks properly premium and an expensive product.

Wouldnt expect otherwise on a UK forum though wink its a patriotic thing I get that.

Sls residuals were horrible whilst the car was in production. They were also giving discounts of 30-40k from list at one stage.

Now they are looking much better post production ending

With relation to carbon, due to its composition its impossible for radio signals to get through it apparently. (this is why 'carbon' keys don't exist - mclaren keys arent actually carbon)

Just read through all of that, and remembered you've since ordered a 540c wonder if you'll regret it or not? For me personally I would prefer Mclaren as a company as its new exciting and British - that said GTS looks sensational.

Will be interested to read how some of you get on with them when they start getting delivered - and more impotrtanly if theres any that dislike them and if so why?

Have a feeling this will be a fantastic car - and much easier day to day over an SLS which whilst having a neat party trick of gull wing doors aren't exactly the most practical!
