It may just be my personal taste but that chrome line at the back would have to be black/carbon or body coloured, personally I think it makes it look a bit cheap frown
Yes you're right. And made more bizarre by the fact the corresponding bit of the spoiler at the front is black. I've been thinking of getting the wing mirrors wrapped in black so might add that in too. I didn't go for the carbon or the midnight packs as I'm not keen on the privacy glass.

Privacy glass is a divisive option, it seems a bit like marmite you either love it or hate it! I personally love it (might be because Im young) but certain cars don't suit having it. Manufacturers are quite good at getting you to spend more money by linking options together... (Porshce seem to be experts)

GTer - Having now had the chance to spend a bit of time in mine, it's worth the wait!

Great, my wait has only been about three weeks and that feels too long! Hoping mine will arrive this week.

Not necessarily, I only ordered mine two weeks ago (admittedly not to my spec, a cancelled order) and it should arrive any day now.
What's your spec?

So have spent the day getting used to the car, playing with the various driving modes etc.

My initial feedback is the car is superb. The engine clearly has massive potential (obviously not getting to stretch its legs right now) and makes a fantastic noise. Gearshifts are incredibly fast ... Certainly the upshifts anyway (can't really comment on the downshifts yet). The cabin feels really special ... The steering wheel is subtly different to my last AMG (smaller diameter and slightly squared off on the sides). Ride is better than I expected on surrey's obliterated road surfaces!

What has been the highlight so far though is the rapidity of direction changes and just how unbelievably flat the car corners (even in comfort suspension mode). When it can be really pushed, this car is going to be very fast.

Most surprisingly, I have got used to the width of the car pretty quickly. I was a little apprehensive about this given some of the smaller roads I drive on, but have been pleasantly surprised. What will still take more getting used to is the visibility when joining roundabouts given the position of the wing mirror. Not a problem, but a bit of care needed.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow (think my spec is very similar to yours so hopefully a sign of good things to come for you too!)

Perhaps a GT S meeting at the next Sunday Service?

It's pretty basic unfortunately, just carbon interior and sports seats. I would have preferred a load of options on it but I appreciate that I was very lucky to get a car at such short notice.

Glad you're enjoying it so far and very happy to hear your comments on the ride quality and getting used to the width. I guess it gets a lot of looks. Not many on the road yet.

Did you take some pics? What is Sunday service?

I assume it'll have premium pack too? If so, to be fair you don't need much else other than this and the seat upgrade. Bet you can't wait!

It doesn't have the premium pack, just nappa leather and metallic paint in addition to what I mentioned before.
Apparently it was ordered by a v well known ex BBC television presenter.

Sunday Services are get togethers for PH members ... pretty informal (though you do need to register in advance and they are pretty hotly attended), just an opportunity to see some interesting cars and meet people. The last one was yesterday I think? Don't know when or where the next one will be, but there are regular ones at Merc World

Spent more time driving yesterday ... learnt plenty more about the car. The coast function in comfort mode when on the motorway is very effective, linguatronic is VASTLY superior to the previous versions and I'm enjoying the driving experience more and more. The car generates a LOT of interest (have had many people complimenting it and lots of people drawing up alongside for a good look while on the motorway yesterday).

Here's a picture of mine.

Lincoln. I live in London but I just thought I'd help build the 'Northern Powerhouse'.

I've been toying with the idea of retro-fitting mine with the Edition 1 front lip, splitters and side skirts - I really like the look of these and I think they particularly suit the flat red.

OK, I could've just ordered the Ed1 but I didn't really want the fixed wing and, the real reason, you can't spec any interior other than the black and red. Ironically, I've ended up ordering the black and red alcantara interior, but because it's the Exclusive version it comes with alcantara through the dashboard which you couldn't get on the Ed1. I thought it would be easier to fit the aero bits than taking the car to AMG to have the interior retrimmed wink

Whats peoples thoughts on these aero add-ons, and do you reckon it'll have any impact on how it drives (e.g. will the front bits require the fixed wing to provide the right aero balance and high speed stability)? Thats assuming MB would even sell these parts separately anyway.
