Boys i am finding water ontop of the cover in the back of my estate. That is the screen cover that pulls out from the seat backs.
Obviously i have a leak at the top of the tail gate. Yet it feels quite dry at the roof level. No roof glass.
When i open the tailgate a little rain water does drip onto the cover.
My Windows do have a lot of condensation.
Yes my car is in warranty but it took four months for Merc to fix my wiper auto unit, as in a lose connection that they had not bothered to look at. So i do not have much faith in OMC.

Is this a known fault with a simple fix ?

As a C class estate owner this post caught my eye. Just wondering if the water could be entering elsewhere and tracking backwards to drip down from the rear of the roof e.g. windscreen seals or perhaps the foot posts for the roof bars??

thanks Jim, yep I posted here in case it was a common problem, obviously not.
Car left out last night, a bit of rain, water on boot cover (not a lot).
The rear of the roof at the tailgate feels damp.
I have checked the rubber conduit hose fittings which appear tight.
good point the roof rail mounts.

Hi, Sorry to drag up an old thread. Did you ever get to the bottom of this. I've got the same issue (albeit on a 2008). I've poured water over the back of the car and appears to run off the roof, into the gulley between the boot and the roof and then straight into the car. through the top of the plastic around the rear window. Appreciate any advice!

Cheers,
Dan

Thread revival time!

I too have the same issue, just wondering if anyone found the source of the water and a fix. I’ve tried re-seating the rubber seal and applying some sealant, but it still seems to be water ingress. I’m sat watching storm Ciara batter everything in sight and just wondering how my boot is fairing! Hoping it’s not a water feature in my boot!
