Hi my son has just had his 220 serviced at the main dealers, two things came up that confused me,
One, they had to adjust the front wheel bearings, so in the 21st century there are parts on a modern car that require adjustment, has any body had this fault.
Two , they had to drill out the holes in the disc due to them being blocked with brake dust,
I just find the two faults strange, things that I would not expect, could it just be just main Steelers doing their thing.

Thanks

Front wheel bearings are tapered sitting on king pins. They do need adjusting a bit some times.

Sorry, not king pins. Don't know where I was then! They are taper set bearings so can be adjusted but be very careful not to over tighten them, they can bind and seize.

Main dealer did the work, I just found it strange to have adjustable bearings in the 21st century, I remember doing them in the 70s but thought that type died out due to modern sealed for life bearings.
