Winter tyres question - C63 - Size of alloy

I asked the dealer for a quote for 18" AMG alloys with winter tyres (currently have 19" on C63 Coupe). I was surprised that they came back with a quote for 17" alloys. I challenged the size (fitting over discs, not how they look visually!) but they "assured" me they will fit.

Does anyone know if that's correct.

Pretty sure only 18's will fit over the calipers. I've got the winter wheel package they're effectively four front wheels rather than the usual wider rears.

17"s don't fit as per above.

I'd go 18"s like the above which will still look great during the winter.

17" won't fit AMG as the disc sizes are too big, 18" only. I will email you the winter catalogue Merc sent me last year.

I have been told you can go down 1" in size but not 2"

I was told, AMG 18inch only, C350 needed 17inch and all other models can use the 16inch:-
