A big test here:

http://www.slkguide.co.uk/clues.html

Two tests actually. The first is to list the model numbers of various Mercs from partial images of the front ends. It is not easy.

The second test is even harder. Larger images are available if you run your cursor over the individual pictures. Have you got the self control not to reveal the much easier answers?

I bet you haven't, but mainly because only you will know. The only victim of your cheating will be you.

Three are quite difficult, one is very difficult and another is a bit left field (whatever that means). I tried this on an ex Merc mechanic who worked on classic models in the main. He failed on one, #27, despite (or maybe because of) being told that the picture was taken at the Goodwood FoS, and was a bit upset about it, mainly because once he realised which it was, he thought he should have got it.

Enjoy.

That's a bit of a stinker!

I could get a few, but no idea on the model designation on some of the older stuff.

Surely you didn't want an easy one.

I phoned my mate and gave him the link and he just reeled off number after number, too quick for me to keep up. He gave alternatives for a couple and then, when he got to #27, without pausing for breath it seemed, he swore. When he used the reveal he swore again.

He told me to delete a couple. One was a second image of the same car, and he reckoned that was a dirty trick.

There are images of the older ones on Wiki.

If you search for, for instance, 1930s Mercedes-Benz images on Google, it seems that the smaller cars don't exist.
