New C63 Orders

Same here. Would keep it a while longer if the deal was the same as it's a lot of car for the money (at the price we got). But otherwise not loving it like I did the C63 estate. Not sure what it is. It sounds great, drives ok, but is just too big to be fun.
Would go for a new C63 in a heartbeat if they were the same price as the old C63. But lack of deals (especially given current euro exchange rate) and having experience of C63 depreciation is putting me off committing to an order just now.
It sounds quite good and it's alright-ish on long distances but the ride and overall level of refinement are poor for such a big, lumbering car. There's too much road and suspension noise and from previous experience with E class AMGs of the last 3 generations, I'm inclined to feel that they should cosset more than this one but still have plenty of oomph when you want it. It doesn't have the benefit of the raw, driver focussed characteristics found in the outgoing C63, which allow you to take it by the scruff of the neck and it's not refined enough to be a very fast sofa, which is what I think it should be. I think the problem lies with AMG creating a sub 8 minute 'Ring car. This isn't what saloons are for and it's really just for pointless bragging rights. Not sure a BMW M5 or S6 (not interested in the RS6) would be any better?

Not yet. I'm sure it's a wonderful car but I've excluded it on cost grounds and I think the 4 litre S6 would be more than adequate for my needs.
Yeah, it is bloody pricey. However, the distance it is ahead of its competitors is worth the extra. I had one for a day a couple of weeks back and it is stupendous! That would be interesting to know! Everything I've heard about the new RS6 from owners and people I know who have driven them has been very positive.
I would be keen to have the extra traction offered by both the S6/RS6 and generally find my E63 frustrating in anything other than optimum, dry conditions, even with traction control loosened. I'm not sure how similar the M5 is in this regard, but turbocharged RWD saloons with c. 550bhp and over 500lb/ft of torque can't be that different.

I placed an order in October for a c63 in black with 19" wheels, premium pack and a few other bits.
it's on a 2 yr lease to replace my c63 coupe that went back last month.
I've been told that it will be built this week and it has an expected delivery date to me mid march.
interestingly the new c63 will be built in South Africa.
I initially wanted the c63s , but the quote was just too much.
maybe I had a good deal on my last 2 c63's.
Seems that you really have to pay up for the new technology.

Have you been bombarded with emails, letters and calls about what you want to do when your lease is up?
Have you enquired about extending the lease on its current terms? For, say 12 months?
Looking around there is nothing even remotely approaching the kind of deal we got. Wouldn't mind keeping the car a bit longer if the lease could be extended.
Lol, yep, i have been bombarded, inc a text on friday night asking what i was doing with my car. I did request a 6 month extension quote. That doubled my monthly payments but the lower final payment meant it would cost me an extra £650 if i bought in 6 months rather than now.Have you enquired about extending the lease on its current terms? More fun than an M5?
Yes. By a good length!I loved the E39 (I've not driven the E60/61) and would love another car with similar characteristics.
The RS6 has nigh on every trick and aspect covered, it's just so expensive that it's limited to those with large bank balances and huge company car allowances. I'd love one. Might even get one, but at nearly £90k with a few options it's a little way off after throwing money away my outgoing A45.

If so, would you mind sharing the lease info?

That must be on a PCP then. I am on a straightforward lease. I es told yesterday that as long as you have an order in on a new Merc they will continue/extend your lease until the new car is delivered.
Given that AMG's tend to be 20-30 week leadtime I might just order a new car close to the expiration date of the current car and stretch my current lease out until the new one arrives.

Really liked the F10 M5, most definitely a step up in performance and tech from the E60/1 although not as involved as my E61 M5. The way the F10 packs on pace is impressive, but the RS6 just lunches it! As for characteristics that would be similar to the E39, W204 C63? lol

I'm not surprised you're getting rid of the A45, after a C63 it must feel a bit highly strung. The RS6 has nigh on every trick and aspect covered, it's just so expensive that it's limited to those with large bank balances and huge company car allowances. Out of interest, what were the conditions like when your drove the M5? Did it struggle for traction?
You're mostly right about the C63/E39 but one thing I always admired about the E39 was that it had excellent ride quality, which the C63 doesn't quite compare with.
I'm becoming more drawn to cars like the BMW 550i, Audi S6 or if they made one, a MB E500. I quite fancy having some oomph but on the next car I want a proper auto box, decent ride quality and nothing similar to the crappy transmission in my E63.
Regarding poor transmission quality are you talking about shift changes? When I was looking at a C63 a few years ago I contacted DMS about tuning and they said at the time that they could make changes to the transmission software which would make it similar to the black series at the time. I suppose something similar to the gearbox software upgrade on the SLS

Yeah, the A45 as fast as it is hasn't really pushed my buttons. It excels in every area I must admit but I can't like the revy 4 pot or the boy racer image. It was novel and fun at first but I find that other road users hate me and my winged menace and the pop/bang rocket ship is turning me into a bad driver. Being 33 years old I feel a bit old for the spoiled brat image too. I can sense the V8 in me calling!!
If anyone was looking for a back road hooligan then I can recommend the A45 wholeheartedly.

The shift changes aren't too bad on the upshifts but the downshifts are a bit slow. The transmission feels like it could be sharper, which I suspect it is on a black series. I think the car would be far better suited to something like the ZF 8 speed auto - I imagine that would suit a bigger saloon better.I've just been looking at the C63/RS6 and M5 over the last few weeks, the discounts and 0% on the M5 have made me come down on the side of BMW again.
Love the new C63 and RS6, but if you're financing them the interest really bites.
Money no object I'd have taken the RS6, maybe next time.
