Have looked at a 2002 E55 AMG with 21500 miles from new with full main dealer history and 2 owners from new. The car seems very honset and I have no experience of the E55 model. I currently drive a 2006 E320 estate and the new AMG would be a bit of fun to run alongside.
What are they worth ?
Are they likely to be a future classic ?
and what are the pros and pitfalls of ownership.
Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
Sorry I didnt take any pictures and my only observation was the seats looked a little worn for the mileage completed however once the engine was switched on the bolsters filed with air and you could adjust the comfort in a multitude of ways.

Thanks for your help in advance.

No direct experience but sounds like a nice car!

The mileage seems really low has it just done short trips in an urban area? There is a chap on here who works for Merc who will check their system to validate the service history if you want i think you can search the forums for something like mercedes service history help thread. I guess the MOT history should validate this too?

Great cars and a possible classic. I have one, 28mpg, goes like hell, only slight snag is rust, as with all Mercs around this era.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have now taken the car for a test drive and had a pre purchase inspection and tracked down the previous owner. The mileage and history all stacks up and the usual rusty bits appear to be absent.

The car sounds fantastic and drives very well albeit for a 13 year old car I think it will give most new cars a run for there money.

Purchase on I think .

Thanks

2002 wouldn't be kompressor IIRC.

That'll save the complication when the charge cooler pump fails.
