I am looking at getting an E400 cabriolet on pcp and came across the drive the deal website. I'm waiting to hear back on a finance quote i have requested but initially the price of the car looks very attractive.

Does anyone have any experience with drive the deal?

Absolutely cracking firm. Bought my c63 507 via them.

I hear that essentially they put you in touch with a dealer? So you do get your car from an official dealer, it just might not be local?

I got a quote from them when I was looking into buying a C class Coupe. They phoned me back the next day and it all sounded good, but they couldn't email me the quote as they are not FSA registered. So I assume they work by connecting you to the dealer, who then pays them.

I'm using them at the moment on a C250. Zero hassle and missed a callback today for a go/no go.

Got a fantastic deal and my local garage just couldn't get within £1k of it insisting there was nothing left in the car so however they do it, they're doing it right.

One advantage over the other brokers I considered is that the others wanted £1000 up front to start the process, before doing anything.

Yep that's exactly how it works. The GFV, monthly payments are all correct though but as you say you work and sign all of that with the mystery dealer they put you in contact with. Deposit down with MB, finders fee paid to DTD once the car arrives. Very painless. The dealer can be anywhere really but in my case is was in the midlands. I'll get the train up and drive it home as I believe the delivery option isn't trailered which is a shame.

Thanks for all your replies. I asked for a quote on their site on Friday and they called me Saturday morning. The quote was very very attractive, as mentioned on hear my local MB dealer is no where near. So i think i'll be going ahead with them.

I used them to get quotes. Gave my quotes to matc the local friendly Merc sales chap on these boards and he beat the deal. A trip to Poole was booked. Job jobbed.

Same here. I took my DTD quote to my local dealer and he beat it (just). My first MB, so the handover and subsequent help provided were greatly valued, and I suspect I wouldn't have got this if I bought from a dealer elsewhere in the country.

Sounds interesting, what was the price in the end if you don't mind me being nosey? I am torn between something like a c class estate or a new focus st estate with all the bells and whistles for my next car.

I used DTD for an Audi purchase and they easily beat anything I could achieve locally. I live in the Thames Valley the car came from Scotland. The whole process was pain free and they were good to deal with.

Rough figures are:
Retail £33430
DTD£27936
Dealer £26012 but that does take into account the £2000 contribution MB makes of you use their finance @ 4.9 APR, I think the DTD price takes that £2K into account as well. If not then they may be the same.
On originally went in to see if they could match the 6/23 lease deal I had seen for £270PM but they managed to discount the car to such a level that they could give me a PCP for the same figures with a GFV of £19800.

Cheers sounds interesting, as i would only be looking at a sport and manual i guess an even lower price could be achieved. Was there a minimum amout you had to finance for the deal? I haven't had car finance for years but been considering it after looking at the ford officers on drive the deal which give an extra £1500 off if you take finance. You only have to borrow a minimum of 2500 on the ford finance too so browsing the minimum to get the discount would be a no brainer really.
