These looks cracking for the money, same for the E55 of the same age. So many toys and so much power for around £10k. Does anyone know if these engines cope well with LPG conversions?

I've had a weekend of pootling around, went to the PH SS at Honda in it. Really pleased with it overall.

Couple of immediate bugbears but not the end of the world 1) oil overfilled at service so warning on dash. Need to drop filter and drain a bit out and re-check 2) lower cluster speed reads in km/h. I've been told this needs a program from the like of Comand online.

Awesome soundtrack, decent handling ride balance. I've got a modified Boxster for more enthusiastic driving but this C55 is a great foil.

Leather in great nick.

I used a Magic Eraser cleaning sponge to go over the wheel and gearstick to clean off all the dirt and shininess and a quick wipe over the dash and doors. When I get a chance I will do a proper clean and do some pics.

Another C55 AMG Estate owner here. Had mine 3 months, never usually keep cars long but this one has got under my skin. Only 55 in the country, and I intend to sort the wheels and keep it a long time. The Kleeman manifolds are also on my radar! Nice to hear feedback on the noise.

Are you saying 3 months is already longer than you keep most cars?!

Private cars I would average say 2-3 years of ownership and tend to buy lower to mid price with cash to do up. With my C55 I probably bought in the mid-upper price bracket mainly because I don't want another project car. New tyres, just B serviced and 12 months MOT means not much to do. Only things on my radar in the next few months is paddleshift conversion, front brakes which seem cheap enough, brake fluid and ATF.

Take a look at the Weistec software upgrade for the gearbox it makes the changes much more crisp.

I think mine may have had a visit to Eurocharged in the past although the dealer ad and lack of paperwork suggest otherwise wink

Yes. I've had 6 cars in about the last 10 months.

Fair enough then. It's hardly worth investing in your cars then if you just move them on so soon unless you buy rock bottom wheeler dealer style to do up and move on for a small profit.

.
I looked into the dash speedo readout also. It is a legal requirement for all uk cars to display vehicle speed in both MPH and KPH. As you have probably noticed there is no KPH on the regular dial so UK cars have to display it in the digital readout part.

To change this you someone with STAR (comand online)to change the settings to non UK car spec. Apparently then you can either choose speed or ambient temp to be displayed. I've just learned to live with it tbh.

Hi Nick - we swapped message about your C55 a few weeks ago wink

I've pumped out 1L of oil and the level on the dash seems ok. I can't believe it took that much to come out! Silverline oil extractor 12 quid so far cheaper than driving it back to supplying dealer.

The km/h on the dash I guess I will just live with!
