Chaps

I have recently purchased a very nice 1989 Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 which, unfortunately, had its service book stolen whilst at a dealership in 1995. I'm not having a lot of luck in speaking to (who I think is) the original supplying dealer. Does anyone on here work for a MB dealer that can tell me if you would have had a DMS that would have kept records from that far back?

Any help appreciated.

Splendid choice of car.

Any Mercedes dealer will, given the chassis number, give you a print out of the spec of the car when new, listing option codes etc.

Its possible that service history will be available too.

Don't forget to join the Mercedes Benz club if you haven't already. Its about £30 and you'll get access to technical data etc and lots of experience.

Many thanks for the response. I live close enough to Mercedes Brooklands, so I will pop in there when I get the chance to see if they can help.

I must say, it's been a car I have like for a long time, although I fear that it may have to make room for an SL that I've spotted!
