Hi,

Trying to put together my wife's conversation with the air con repair man who came out to our B200 Turbo.

He is definitely saying that the condenser is leaking but it is a combination part with the coolant radiator. However, he seems to think that the two parts can be replaced separately but that he can't get a price for the condenser on its own, though he thinks he could? but he couldn't at the time? Then he'd replace it?

So I think the questions are:
what parts do we need?
how can I find out how much they cost?
can we get pattern ones?

Thanks

Sorry - not technical enough to give you the precise answer - hopefully someone else will come along.

But if you do some web searches you will find plenty of reference to this problem - and even DIY instructions to replace yourself.

Sounds like quite a common issue. We bought a 4yo 245 last year and had the system re-gassed a few months down the line - it was practically empty. The guy who did it said he had been to an identical car the week before and it was just the same. He was blaming the location of the condenser leading to the failures being experienced.

12 months down the line we can tell a substantial drop in the performance of our system - yet again. Lack of the system is not a big issue to us though.
