Hi guys

I am looking to get my first Mercedes and have my eyes set on the CLS. Dream would be CLS63 but my budget right now is £20K - £25K hence am looking at a CLS 250/350 AMG Sport.

I have a couple of questions I was hoping you guys could help with:
  • From 2011 - 2014 are there any significant changes to the car that would mean getting one year over the other would be better?
  • 250 vs 350 whats the general consensus here?
  • Given the Mrs will also be driving it will have to be an automatic
Thanks guys.

No idea on dates
350 every time much better engine, quieter and more refined. Plus I still get 45 to 51 mpg. Also 350 tend to get more extras paid for when new.
Never seen one with manual so route is auto

Dear L,

why does it need to be so new?
Last model CLS63 is easily available for £20k and its got that fabulous NA V8 (and looks better to my eyes) smile

Jet

CLS 350 petrol from the current W218 model. I get high 30s average mpg. Lovely car. Standard 18 inch wheels make the rider lovely. There are not many out there but unless you're doing 20k a year why get a diesel?

I was looking at the older model and decided it had to be post facelift only if I got one (loses the truck like steering wheel of the early model).
