Hi all,

I have just posted in general gassing and thought i would post here as well. Desperately trying to solve this mystery.

So i bought a 2010 Mercedes e220 cdi estate nearly a month ago and it has an annoying rubbing sound when i corner. It sounds like the brakes.. It has been sent to halfords twice and they have checked the brakes and the pads look nearly new. It has been into the place where i got it from for front wheel bearing replacement for both wheels and it is still doing it.

To clarify..

- Rubbing brake noise when cornering on the side which has the weight on it, so if i am turning right the noise comes from the left front corner (or so it seems)

So has anyone got any suggestions that i can throw out there when it goes in again on Tuesday?

Could it be warped discs? What could be causing the brakes to rub when turning a corner? Or what would make a sound like brakes rubbing and they are looking in the wrong place?

As you can imagine this is pissing on my new car experience so any suggestions i can throw at them would be appreciated so i can get on with enjoying my new motor!

(this is all getting done under warranty thats why i went to halfords)

If you brake hard in a straight line and there's no judder then it's not warped discs.

If it's under warranty take it in to a Merc dealer, the warranty company should pay out whoever you take it too.

Genuine MB pads or aftermarket?

I have known of some aftermarket pads,( on an A class, not an E), that were very slightly smaller than original pads and were moving ever so slightly in the caliper, causing the occasional 'noise' on cornering and, less often, a 'click' when first applied. Took a while to work out what is was.
