Hi

What should I be paying for the first service on an A45?
I have been quoted £514, is this about right?

Cheers

That should be a basic A service, oil and filter change?

If yes that is extremely expensive I paid £200.76 for the first service on my c63 always supply your own oil it results in a significant saving -

That's huge money!

The first service on the SLS was around £200 at Mercedes in Stockton.

It really depends what needs doing. The model of car has no bearing on price, other than that AMG usually costs more than the others.

My A service on the A45 was done at the beginning of August. It included, filters (which i didnt need due to modifications), engine oil (5.5l), rear diff oil, software updates (usually 1.5hrs charge but i didnt need due to ecu tune) and some other minor stuff.

The SLS will be much like my previous C63 in that it won't need a diff oil change until later in the cars life as it gets a run in service at 1000 miles. You don't get this run in service with the A45 and the first encounter with a spanner is usually at 1yr or 12k miles. Hence the price hike. £514 may be a bit high in the scheme of things but it doesn't sound unrealistic for the car.

As i said, my car is on a £30pcm+vat service plan which works out cheaper than paying every time i go in for a service. If you add up the months it's still not far off the £514 quoted above.

Have you looked on https://www.mymercedesservice.co.uk/home ?

Note the price can vary quite a lot between different dealers - even those in the same group.

If you're stuck with using an expensive dealer and haven't got time to faff about then the ServiceCare plan probably makes sense.

Guys,

Thanks for all the info. Used the link above for all garages within a 50 mile radius, and the cheapest is circa £480!
