Reading Evo a few weeks back, saw a piece on the run out models for the current gen MK3 Megan's, 275 Cup S and the 275 Nav. Pricing for the Cup starts at £23,950 which i though is a bit of a bargain, as it gives all the Cup chassis upgrades (brakes, suspension anti roll bars) with enough comforts to be usable every day (air con, radio, cruise control)

Purely out of curiosity, I was passing a Renault Garage and thought id ask about one - whats the harm in that? (even though my 14 plate 208 GTi is still very much in its youth!) When there, they said that the model had literally just been planned and would be available to buy within a month - then the dealer hit me with the figures. with the discount I've been offered, this car is less than i paid new for my 208, its well into new fiesta ST territory...

admittidly, the mk3 is getting on a bit, (the interior is clearly showing its age and design from a pre-iPhone world) but its a struggle to find a group test in the press it doesn't out perform pretty much everything else, and 275 BHP for that price is pretty much unbeatable new at least

Long story short - by the end of this year, ill be in my first Renaultsport (and 2nd Renault) product. Kept the spec simple in order to not increase the price, and frankly can't wait! although I will be gutted to see my Mighty GTi go on to a new owner...

Very nice, what colour have you gone for?

As with most of the Megane range, keeping it simple is the best way. I'd be interested to know what discount you got? wink

Mercury Silver, black wheels. was tempted by white, but as current 208 is white (along with every Audi on the road) thought id go old-school on the colour.

Discount is a dealer specific one, as i had bit of negative equity on my current one, they've agreed to clear it, and some biggrin

I've been scanning all the broker sites for a few weeks waiting for details of discounts, with no luck. Without meaning to pry, what ballpark percentage did you get off? I know the ST list price is approx £18k for an ST3...if I was offered a 275 for about that amount i'd rip their hand off (with Recaros, flame red and Monitor!)

It depends on what you want to order hehe

We always try and be competitive but in the depths of Cornwall we don't sell too many RS models!

I'm getting the details fully finalised on paper in next week or so, the car is ordered but as its a brand new model we worked out figures on the recently defunct trophy model, (the cup s wasn't on renault's finance page) so mine will be slightly different but the deal will still be staggeringly good.

A total bargain at that price.

If you can live without the options then it's a great deal.

Awesome price.

RS Monitor is a must on these cars too, otherwise you're stuck with with the default Sport throttle setting, which is just too jumpy.

If my 250 wasn't still running so well I'd be after one of these!

Ive got the monitor on mine, but otherwise kept it pretty standard to keep the price at such good value - there was a Cup S on auto trader for a few days fully loaded at £32,000.
As good as some of the options are, the standard car isn't exactly lacking, and it'll be just ads good, only difference will be the extra £10,000+ saving XD

Are the 19 inch wheels worth the extra £1,000

Thought these would have been standard on a Cup..

The 19s are too big and ruin the ride and handling, stick with 18s if you like driving

I've just ordered one of these to replace my outgoing golf R. Had a long test drive in Wales, did evo triangle and even thought it was wet and freezing the higher I got, I was well impressed. You got any pics Craig. I've got to confirm my colour. Going for akra, ohlins, recaro and v2 monitor. Think I fancy the Mercury.
