Mercedes SLS AMG - Have I missed something?

Prices seem to have increased 20% in the last 12 months even with the introduction of the new AMG GT.
Last year I remember browsing the ads and they were under £100k with me thinking "wow, that is a huge amount of depreciation in only a few years!" Queue 2015 and prices have risen quite sharply.
Is it because of speculators trying to create a bubble or enthusiasts thinking that Mercedes will never produced such a large engined/unique car again and are forcing prices up via desirability?
