Hi..

Just wondering if anyone has had a re-map on an SLK 250 cdi.

Looking at a late 2012 model and wondering how successful the re-maps on these cars are.

The car is v low miles (8000) and I'm quite tempted for a daily driver.

Cheers

I recently drove a friends E250cdi estate with a remap. Obviously the same engine but a much larger and heavier car.
He opted for celtic tuning and decided on their "economy" map. 240bhp and 425lb/ft torque. It drove VERY well and was a lot more eager to get going than I remember a standard 250cdi being.
Celtic told him their stage 1 tune with 255bhp would be faster if driving flat out but for normal part throttle driving, the economy map is the one to go with and has extra torque at lower rpm.

He has already put 20k miles on his car and he is extremely happy with the remap. Most of all he is happy that the autobox doesn't change down as much when following traffic. I guess the extra torque means in stays in a higher gear than normal.

Hi, just noticed this post about mapping. I had a 2014 250 CDI and purchased a Race Chip Pro for it. Most people on an MB forum (and who never had one) took the p**s saying it was a waste of money. Well the trust was it made a HUGE difference to increase performance all round and worked without a hitch for 2 years. I have now sold the SLK and removed it, so if anyone wants it let me know. It is fully set up to peak performance, boxed with full instructions. Here is a link: https://www.racechip.co.uk/shop/mercedes-benz/slk-...
