Similar to one I owned a few years ago which I bought as a winter run around.
Very similar aren't they.Created a to do list for mine:
Sort rust on both front wings
Rust bubble on rear pass door
New oil filler cap
Get rust off of the corner of the grille (white vinegar?)
Put on a new clip for the under engine tray
Polish with paint restorer

If that is all that is on your list for a twenty-something year old car, then it would appear that you bought a really good one!Created a to do list for mine:

Heres a slightly better picture for anyone thats interested
Bought for £495 last year, changed oil and filters(gearbox aswell) changed the steering linkages and have ran it on a shoe string since, remarkable how smooth the 2.6 M103 is even after 220,000 miles.
Soon I plan on sorting out the usual front wings and the bottom ball joints look past their best so I also plan on replacing both wishbones.

I unexpectedly fell in love yesterday. My SL had been sitting since December, not doing much except looking grimy and going for a short run every week to keep things working.
First properly warm day of the year and it was straight down to the car wash, it came up lovely, better than I expected...
Then a short drive to drop the roof off into storage for the summer, first time I'd had the hard top off since I got the car. Things started to get more interesting then...
Really liked the way it looked and drove with the soft top in place. Thought I'd better test if it went down as well as it went up...
I'm totally smitten and can't stop driving the thing. Over the last two days it's has more appreciative comments and second glances than anything I can remember owning previously. Plus the value added to my day with amused references to 80's, 90's Miami, LA and Hollywood by friends and colleagues. Long may the combination of this great weather and (touch wood) faultless running of my SL continue!

What a stunning SL! What engine/year is it? They work so well in the sun don't they! I need to go and retrieve mine soon. I've been driving my little 190 this morning - it's a great mini Merc and ideal for pottering about doing tasks. Not too big, great visibility, smooth straight 6 with enough go to cope with traffic without stress, a fantastic ride. Ideal for modern life.
