2012 C class outer tyre wear
Discussion
Dealers say its normal and a safety feature!
Basically wanders to the kerb at varying degrees when letting go of wheel, this I accept that mercs can do this but at the same time the outside edge nearside front goes bald. I swapped tyres around at front to even the wear out but at 28000 miles they are shot, although the middle three quarters still have about 4mm left.
Any thoughts is this right.

My 2012 C Class doesn't do that, and tyre wear is even across the tread. Your dealer's representative is talking nonsense. As previous post advises, get a full wheel alignment done, but note that this can't be perfect with such uneven wear on tyres. If you're replacing the tyres, get the alignment done soon after.

Don't know about more recent ones, but I have a 2005 C Class and they're notorious for being very sensitive to road camber.
Sounds more like this guy has tracking issues though if he wanders over to the kerb with no wheel inputs. Road camber following I could probably understand.Viperzs said:

Well, alignment, rather than tracking. It needs at least a check - the rear being out can push the front. It's common for the inside edge of the NSR to be worn too, if the outside of OSF is worn. It's just not as noticeable. On W203's offset bolts can be fitted to provide more adjustment and they're available for W204 too so I presume the same issue exists.
