I'm looking to buy a C63 AMG, Have a budget of around 25k so looking at 2008-2010 models.
What should i look for when viewing potential purchases?
When are the major services and what should a 6-8 year old car with under 50k miles have had done?
Also how much can I expect to pay for servicing, brakes, tyres etc etc.
Any advice when it comes to buying one would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Haha, do they Have that bad cred now?
I've also considered a Lexus IS-F, Supercharged XF, VXR8 or Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Micra K11 or MX 5.

Both have more credibility than a C63 cockrocket. Shame really as the engine in the C63 sounds lovely.

/End thread.

great cars and epic engines...but you will need shares in Michelin or simialr tyre comany for th rears...
also, i have to agree with the above,,,
nowadays they are bought mainly by the chav, millionaire wannabe, maxxed out credit card brigade. usually in white with overly tinted windows.

if that bothers you,,, the Lexus is the one to go for off your list,,,,sounds just as good, is a LOT rarer and arguably more desirable, lovely interior etc etc

besides....the others WILL break down more than is good for you mental health and bank balance...

Not that I can afford any of them, but I'd have an XF-R.

C63s seem to be driven by cocksockets round here, too.

Really? I was thinking new Mustang or 2013 C63 coupe as a possible next step. Mind you, I had the old Impreza...

Didn't realise the C63 had that reputation now....but I'm 33 next week with 2 kids so can safely say I'm not one of these new breed of owners.
I love the IS-F but why did they have to have just 4 seats? The wife wants another kid next year so need 5 seats if I wanna keep the car for a few years.

Yep the saloon versions of these round my way are driven by complete pillocks. Tonkers description is spot on. Shame because its really lovely car. I'd like one myself but only in estate form.

Same everywhere I think, and as you say - it's a shame.

I'd want a coupe. Are they different in demographic?

Gordon Bennett - I had the chance to buy a 507 version a few years back and passed it up.
Now they've got *that* reputation (which I had no idea they do) I shall have to give one a miss.
I wouldn't want the neighbours talking...

I've nothing to add other than state that they seem to be driven by the 'Brappp, Brappp' brigade around my way (South Wales).

An estate one would be ideal but seem to be a lot rarer and hold their money well.
What else is out there in my budget as a performance family car?

Just buy the car you want, if you like the C63 get one. There are people in all sorts of cars who drive like idiots.

Any 3 year + premium car has the wannabes driving them RRS, FFRR, Mercs and especially Audis. How many though are the real deal and not a rebadged/bodykitted/re-exhausted diesel?
