CL500 2008 No Navi

Hello all,
I am posting this on behalf of a pal - hope someone can help.
He is buying the above car - lovely thing. He's just found out that the car has the COMAND system but the original buyer didn't specify the NAVI option so he is worried about going through with the purchase now. I think he would use a Garmin / Tom Tom in reality but said I would post the question here.

He is buying the car for good price but is this why?

I really wouldnt get hung up on not having an 8 year old NAV system in the car. I've just bought a 2007 C350 Coupe with Comand / NAV and its ancient in comparison to your modern day Garmin NAV or similar.

I would be 99% certain you can upgrade the Comand head unit to a later type with NAV.

Out of curiosity, does it DEFINITELY not have NAV or is it just asking for the disc to be put in?

I believe all UK CL cars came with Comand and Nav as standard. Maybe it's not a UK car. It may be that it just hasn't got the disc. I think they are available from MB for approx £100 which is what I paid to update my 2006 S500 to the lasted edition
