So I recently bought a 1978 R/B MGB roadster and I'm looking to swap to C/B and also to lower to the C/B ride height as well as upgrading the dampers.

However I've seen on the item description of the GAZ damper kit I was looking at says not suitable for lowered vehicles? Any ideas why this is and what the best options are in my situation?

Any feedback is welcome!

I am just doing this on a roadster, fitted the plinth kit today... I think what they mean on the GAZ shocks, is they are not good if the car is SLAMMED! , an 1 inch lowering kit will make no difference.
I fitted the lowering kit from B Hive, front springs and rear blocks, and it is very effective, looks nice. The plinth kit is a bit of a fiddle though.

That was my thought too, I guess they're air springs and provide progressive damping. Don't think it will make too much difference with a 1inch lower indeed.

converted my 78 B with parabolics and spax at the back. It's a little firm, even with them at the lowest setting. Got gaz shocks on the front though, which are much more compliant.

Did anyone convert to C/B from R/B including the lowered ride height? Just bought some 480lb springs from Moss, will see what kind of feel this gives

Not quite the way you have - the parabolics are lower than normal and it's got a moss coilover conversion on the front that isn't as low as I'd like, but it feels good.

I looked into the uprated springs, but I chose the lowered, standard ones, mostly because I live and drive in rural Gloucestershire and the roads are poor. The lowered standard springs are a bit stiffer due to being shorter, and with the telis, I have Koni, it feels nice and tight, and stiff enough across the pot holes!
The problem with the R/B crossmember is that if you go too low, it will bump steer unless you re-locate the rack....... Then it gets complicated.

Planning to, unfortunately I didn't get very far before discovering the rusty sills of doom....so it's lots of cutting and welding first frown. Be interested to see how people get on though.
