modern v6 for project (cyclone)

No experience with these, but from doing mine I'd say:
Engine mounts etc is fairly basic fabrication so not too expensive - assuming it fits of course! I gave the engine & gearbox to the chassis manufacturer so they could make any modifications as they built it.
Being Ford, they might have used a common bellhousing pattern so getting a gearbox to fit may be fairly easy. If not, getting an adaptor made up cost me around a grand, then work to adapt the clutch (a custom flywheel in my case) cost around 750. Being a v6, you may also find that it requires rebalancing if you have to change the clutch/flywheel, around 500 quid there.
Biggest issue I'd imagine is the engine management. Assuming the standard one is too integrated to everything else to be usable, and you need to go aftermarket, it will probably depend on whether you can find someone with experience of the engine to map it. Which there probably is if people like Ginetta are using it. It's not overly complicated to wire up, but reckon on the cost of the ECU + a day's mapping + transport will be a couple of grand at least.

I am currently fitting a 'modern' V6 into my kit car. In my case it is a Nissan VQ30 (3 litre, 24 valve, quad cam, no variable cam timing though) mounted mid engined and transverse.
If you are sticking it somewhere that is designed to house a V8, fitment is no problem. If you are sticking is somewhere designed for an inline 6, the are very wide engines and you can hit issues....as I am!
On the electrics, I would go aftermarket on the ECU, it will be a lot easier in the long run. Assuming you have the bonnet clearance, stick with the original intake/injectors etc. If possible, try to get the original "engine loom" with the donor engine, this could be modified to mate to the ECU.
When selecting the ECU, try to get one that is as compatible as possible. It might cost more but will save a fortune and a ton of effort in the long run. I am using the Motec M130, fantastic but not cheap.
