Morning guys

just about to buy the better half a 2010 ML350 to replace her Honda CRV lease car.

Anyone owned one of these - what are they like to live with...?? Anything I should be aware of or look out for when buying...?? Would you recommend them or is it a case of please steer clear...??

Any help and advise really appreciated

Had mine for three years and very pleased with it
Very understated car but does everything nicely and great for long journeys

on my third ML (2x ML350's and one ML420) and I really like 'em. Bit of a 'Goldilocks' job for me -before I swapped my old 420 for a new 350 last year I tested a Q5, Macan and RR Sport which were all cracking cars but the Q5/Macan were just a bit too small and the RR Sport a tad too big but the ML was just right for my purposes. Massive load space, comfortable, reliable, manouverable etc. Quick-ish in a straight line -plenty of overtaking oompf when you need it (0-60 about 7secs for the current 350). Having said that, they're obviously not a sports car and if you throw it into a corner or roundabout you quickly wish you hadn't but as a big super-comfy tank to lumber along in peace and serenity I reckon they're hard to beat. Mpg is about 22 around town/country lanes and maybe 35mpg on a long steady motorway jaunt. Aside from diesel, they're heavy on tyres -I munched a set of front tyres in about 10k miles which is a bit eye-watering but that might be partly down to 'Milton Keynes Roundabouts' effect!
Issues? not many -only problems I had with the previous ones were tyre related -don't mix tyres (see above!) or you'll screw up the traction control and the halogen headlights on the old (2008) ML420 clouded over internally. It was the internal 'bullseye' projector lenses that got a misty residue on them and significantly reduced the light output on dip-beam -a real pain as you cannot ( and I'm really do mean CAN NOT) get in to clean them -only solution is a a new light unit at a grand each so I ended up driving with the front fogs on permanently at night. New 350 has HID's I'm pleased to say!
I know the 'I only drive sports cars' brigade will slag them off but on a filthy wet motorway with white-out spray and heavy traffic there is no nicer place to be (aside from tucked up at home!)
