Bilstein PSS10 Install on 507
Discussion
Thought I'd share the install on the 507. Wanted to improve the pretty decent handling for some more focused track duty (Ring trackday at the start of July is next on the calendar). After MUCH deliberation I went with the PSS10's as they're monotube and Intermotiv can get them revalved and resprung if needed down the line. It helps I also got a great price on them.
Went with Intermotiv in Horsley and I have to say Jonathan has been an absolute star so far. He put up with so many mails from me it's untrue and really helped make up my mind. He's corner weighting the car and also taken templates of the top mounts so I can get some camber adjustable ones dropped in later He even advised of a grease release on the offside from top mount. Car should be complete tomorrow giving me enough time to fiddle with settings and let them settle. 25mm drop currently.

Ok so picked the car up tonight. The attention to detail from Jonathan has been remarkable, so so impressed and that takes a lot for me to say. The car is set around 30mm lower front and rear and (as per pics) Jonathan has tried to get the balance of car as close to 50/50 as he can without making the car look odd. Fronts are set on 5 hard (out of 10) and 4 rear. I've driven about 20 miles on local roads with a bit of traffic but done the usual throw it round a few roundabouts, some rougher surfaces etc and the dampers feel less crashy (something I noticed when I fitted the lighter wheels) but nicely firm. I think it could go stiffer on the road as it feels quite soft (harder than stock just about) but it really feels planted when you throw it into a corner...so far so good!

How are you finding your setup now?
I had the alignment done on Saturday, it was a bit out offside front (toe and camber) but all is now within tolerance (~ -2 deg camber up front).I haven't really pushed the car that much as it's on the road only but it does feel very sure footed, responsive and precise with no drama about it. It definitely feels better than stock but it's not night and day. Still running 5 and 4 on the damping, thinking of upping this to 6 and 5 possibly tomorrow but I think it's almost perfect on road. The tricky thing will be setting it up for the Ring, part of me thinks that the road setting I get happy with will be the perfect setup for the Ring aswell given the unique uneven nature of the circuit.

This is something that I am thinking of doing to keep my (still admittedly high) interest in my car after three years. I keep fleeting with chopping it in for a V8V or XKR-S, but I think I might miss the C63.
Let us know how you get on longer term. I think there is a touch that can be improved on the standard setup, some more directness would be good but then it's no M3/M4, and it's actually still very good. This and perhaps a little more noise when trundling around might do it for me.

I've got the Merc for 3 years (according to the purchase plan), hoping I continue to enjoy it and it keeps delivering on the fun. Not sure what I'll do at that point but I like changing my cars regularly as there's just too much to own out there.Let us know how you get on longer term. I upped the damping to 6 front and 5 rear yesterday and it's definitely at the limit now for road use, I think 5 and 4 was better. Bilstein suggested 8 and 6 for the Ring and track work so I'll give that a go when I'm there. That's the approach I've taken with the car, before I bought it I had a list of 4 things; wheels (for track), exhaust (for pleasure and track), air filters (for performance), suspension (for pleasure and track). I've done the lot now so that's it for me. Saying that, the mods on the Merc have cost more than my entire build on my old Clio Cup racer and that included buying the thing!!
Do you track your C63? I don't see many out there that do and those I see are just road wheels/rubber. With decent tyres and the bits I've done it's turned it into a decent track toy...ok so it's not exactly at home on track or built for it and as you say the M3/4 have more raw ability out of the box but it's so much more fun making it do things it wouldn't do naturally

More rumble can be sorted by fitting an X-Pipe it adds a deeper note without being too much.Let us know how you get on longer term. But it kills track aspirations..you need a valved exhaust for that (like what I did )

Well that's acceptable then, let me get the defibrillator out
I have one final date with Intermotiv on Monday for a spanner check before Germany. The springs are already settling and the ride heights seem a bit off now. I do get the impression the dampers are up to more than the springs, that was another option tabled...swap out the springs at a later date (and maybe get some top mounts made up).
