Evening all,
Just back after an excellent purchase process throughout, including thorough handover and also a great insight into the cars controls and so on - well done MB Dealer.

Had a 250+ mile drive home and had the chance to get used to the car and all good so far.

Will take a while to get used to the controls, the user interface and must find a way to have speed cameras picked up on sat nav !

Hmmm if you figure out the speed cameras I'd love to hear how.

From whose/where did you buy it?

Health to enjoy.

I'm in the same position. 150 mile drive back on Thursday but impossible to master all the tech whilst driving!
very happy with the drive at cruising speeds and had a quick outing in London today.
Looking forward to spending an hour or so tomorrow getting familiar with the kit.
Was the long drive because you bought through a broker?

Who did you buy it from? Would be good to know who the good dealers are.

Whilst it isn't picking up speed cameras, the onboard camera does read the repeating speed limit signs and display them both on the Satnav and Dashboard screens. No excuse really to not know what the current speed limit is.

How do you configure it to display on the dash board screen and sat nav ? Or am I missing a trick here

I didn't do anything - honestly smile Neither did I on my previous GL. The standard system just does it.

Not specific to the GLC43 but this is the system that should be built in;
http://techcenter.mercedes-benz.com/en/traffic_sig...

And from the manual

Mine does it automatically (or without me having fiddled with it yet).
The signs kept popping up on the drive back from dealer. At first I thought it might be a satnav speed camera database but then went through a very obviously temporary 50 on the motorway (which came up) and realised it was camera sign recognition.
Once you are used to it, it is a cool feature.

I cant find anything on tyre spec in terms of whether any of the wheel sizes carry run-flats - can someone please advise?

Whilst I hate them on the X5 they've helped me out a few times and I'd rather stick with run-flats than tyre goo when I drive 20k miles a year

Don't know about 20s and 21s (others can advise) but my 19s came with Michelin Latitude Sport 3 non-run flats.
I was expecting run-flats but not too fussed. Can of goo and compressor in the boot.

Is anyone able to use the connect app to operate the remote heating or isn't this available?
I purchased the "vehicle set up" package, which I thought it was part of along with "vehicle monitoring" and "live traffic"..

So not sure what's actually part of the vehicle set up package

No run flat on the staggered 21" setup. They are Continental Sport Contact on there.

Yes I've got the app, but no idea what you are talking about. Not even seen it as an available option.

Haven't got round to this yet but looked at it when I ordered as I used to have an X5 with an auxiliary heater and liked it.
In the case of the GLC, there is am aux heater but only available in Germany. I think what you refer to is "remote start" which allows you to start (and heat) the car from your app. It is certainly available in other markets (there's a US MB vid showing it). Unfortunately I think it is illegal in the UK - as I understand it, you are not supposed to leave cars running and unattended. Hence unavailable although I believe that some after-market firms can set it up.

I finally decided to go with the 21" wheels yesterday. Rang the dealer and asked him to finalise the order. He rang me back a few hours later to tell me that the carbon interior trim is now out of stock. An ex demo supercharged F Pace is starting to look more and more attractive.
