Looks great and hope you (and your Wife) are delighted!
Out of curiosity, is that the ramp for today's delivery cars all stacked up?
Thanks, and yes very pleased! The ramp is where they put all their AMG models, the bay is the only one there and they move the cars in place there.

They had to cover it up as when it went in yesterday (it was quiet this weekend) people just kept on coming up to it and trying to get in it. I'm glad they covered it up.

Absolutely loving this car, can't push it yet, but it is very very promising with the way it drives and how it responds.

And a few of the standard interior - absolutely love the non-slip nature of the microfibre inserts. It does exactly what I wanted from it.

Great news dude. Looks fab. Top tip, use the manual gears in sport plus for much better economy while retaining the noise. Sport+ holds a much lower gear when in auto to drain the fuel. With manual you can drive it more conservatively.

It is gone a little quiet in here smile

So first weeks impressions;
  • It is so compact: yet very spacious on the inside. A real Tardis. I just can't get over how small it is when I'm standing next to it, yet doesn't feel like that once you sit inside.
  • Memory seats: they are nice an quick to change, love the steering wheel being included as well and easy entry system
  • Gloss black: absolutely fine, just gathering some static dust but no finger prints
  • Exhaust sound: it is getting louder, I've been abroad for a few days and it is definitely getting deeper and louder. I can hear it in my office at the back of our house and that is in comfort mode. In Sport+ it is definitely loud. I like it though.
  • Handling: Can't really push it much yet, but I've been doing little sprints and they are very promising.
  • Manual mode in automatic is definitely manual; hit the limiter in Sport + and bounced off it. I like that
  • Sound system (Burmester) is getting better every day, loosening up nicely
  • LED+ ILS is absolutely awesome. I was so focussed on how it paints black boxes on the car in front that I followed the black box and nearly ended up in a hedge smile Don't do that at home, but it is much better than the ILS I had on the GL AMG previously. Love how it leave on the full beams yet doesn't blind the car infront nor oncoming traffic
  • Fuel consumption - hmm not really why anyone buys this car, best forgotten about and banned from discussion. It definitely consumes smile
I'm about to wash it for the first time, wish me luck avoiding swirls on that black paint :P

Damn damn damn damn damn. If I had known ILS would do the black box trick I would have specked it. Damn.

I wonder if it is easily retro fitted. What was it as an option cost?

I can't remember I think it was only £545 but doubt it is a dealer fit option unfortunately. But I don't know. Somehow it will require different headlight housing, control unit, integration with steering, and on-board forward camera at least. I doubt it will be economically sensible to have a dealer fit this, but you can always ask.

And yes it was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting the same as what I was used to, but this is quite an improvement.

Hard to tell from some photos but can any owners tell me if the door handles are chrome or colour coded? Configurator seems to show them as colour coded.

The funny thing is that I was washing my car yesterday, and ahem I actually don't know. Black makes them look so like Chrome...

Handles are colour coded to the lower half and chrome to the top. Don't much like the chrome but hey ho... I cant hear the handles, I can hear the engine. :-)

Ahhh okay thanks! Yeah I wasn't so keen on the chrome myself which is why I have gone for the Night Package to try and tone it down a bit smile

I think the night package desperately requires all black wheels to finish it off as in my opinion the shiny bits on the wheels really stand out with out it being able to tie in with any other visual design elements on the car. But that is just my opinion, it is good that we have choice.

Indeed I was a bit stuck with the wheel choice, I have gone for the 21's but am not massively keen on the diamond cut design. The Germans get the option of the 21 inch design in titanium grey which I would have liked instead! frown

You can buy them here and flog the other set -

Quite an expensive way of doing it!

Or just have them painted smile Personally I absolutely love my 21" wheels, they really are a standout feature.

I collect my car on Saturday morning after 2-days of my B-Class courtesy car. Most uninspiring but adequate runabout. But I'd never buy one, ever.

My car has had a raft of new bits fitted including centre console (scratching) instrument binnacle (creaking) software update for transmission and various removal and refit items around my doors to cure creaking.

Time will tell if it's all fixed.

Done 1,150 miles in it now and all looking good. The exhaust is now starting to get nicely run in and has lost some of that initial new tinniness sound and becoming deeper. Find it very smooth and comfortable on 21" wheels in comfort mode, and is very exciting to drive in Sport+. No rattles, or anything that annoys me really which is rare and unique. Fingers crossed it remains like that.
