Does anyone know if these are sold out in UK now? I really fancy one.
I dont think they're officially sold out since they're not a limited edition but the car has a finite production run and there's only so many cars that can be produced a year.I made a few calls in january to various dealers to enquire about one and in every case was told they couldn't guarantee a car and was pushed in the direction of the GTC.

It will be very interesting to see what Top Gear this Sunday make of the car, the TG magazine mid March loved it.

I was told by an "expert" that they were making 70 UK cars this year, and up to 120 next, which is many more than I was originally told, so I had strong words with AMG. One of the managers confirmed, categorically, that their are 70 build slots this year, and 70 next though it could be more, BUT these slots are split between the GTR and GTC!! So it seems that the car is going to be pretty limited. They will perhaps build some more in 2019, but he couldn't confirm, but made it clear that the car will be very rare. So if you haven't ordered one yet, you may struggle, but you never know.

All uk allocations for GTR are dealt with by one person. I can't say any of that matches up with what I've been told.It will be very interesting to see what Top Gear this Sunday make of the car, the TG magazine mid March loved it.
Not fussed either way, I'm not a flipper and my car arrives in june!

I was fussed because the information changed, and if you had a GT/GTS model in 2015 you would know that AMG produced more cars than demand, hence prices fell a fair bit. That is why I spoke to a senior manager in Europe. I know that in the UK a lady deals with the allocation, but she can't control the cars produced/imported for the UK market. I am happy that the information I received from the official is pretty accurate.
No she has no control over numbers coming in however she does know exactly how many allocations the UK is given, I can't think of a better uk based source for information on numbers for the car.Edited by stoatage17 on Wednesday 5th April 08:23
Since the car isn't explicitly limited you have to assume that MB will build loads and that there will be some significant depreciation anyone ordering one and hoping/thinking otherwise is absolutely bonkers in my opinion.

I put down a deposit some five months ago in mid December 2016 and my dealer cannot advise me whether I will get a GTR in 2018, 2019 or at all, so it is just a waiting game to see to see what transpires.
I have a feeling that Top Gear's test of the GTR this coming Sunday is likely to be very good. As a result I would expect quite a lot of people who watch the programme to want a GTR and to put down a deposit for one next week. It would therefore be sensible if anyone is thinking of getting one to put down a deposit tomorrow or Saturday, to get ahead of those next week.........if you want any chance of getting one !

The Top Gear UK road test on the 6th April(or released then) carried out by Ollie Kew is now available. I can't provide the link because I am pretty crap at that sort of thing, but easy to search for. Do have a peep, it is pretty good. He absolutely loved the car!I have a feeling that Top Gear's test of the GTR this coming Sunday is likely to be very good. I just got my build date confirmed as July. I've ticked every option box (including cage and RXC). My (Australian) dealer said he held quite a few EOI which went to water when asked for a decent deposit, so my late order zoomed up the charts. Colour? GHM. Can't wait!
Very exciting! My delivery ETA is last week of June over here in the U.K. Can't wait to see the car on this weekends Top Gear & also to be in it myself ....!
I heard Porsche are building 70ish Gen 2 GT3's this year, so nice to know this is as exvlusive as that car which retains a premium well into 18 months of ownership.

I hope you get it in time to bring it to Goodwood. I'd love to see it in the car park. My delivery ETA is last week of June over here in the U.K. Can't wait to see the car on this weekends Top Gear & also to be in it myself ....!
The 70 allocated for this year include the GTC, I was informed by a senior AMG employee, so it could be nearer 40-50!
I don't know if anone else has read the Top Gear UK first drive/test of the car on the 6th May 2017, but it worth reading and pretty impressive to say the least!

I googled it but couldn't find a review or video anywhere (apart from the initial review last year) maybe it will go live after they air it on BBC tomorrow night?
When did you place your deposit if you don't mind me asking? Also unfortunately topgear is not on tomorrow night due to the Masters!Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
