CitySlicker I will be able to answer that once I know the prices for the different metallic colours. I want to go for a lary colour, but if the yellow/ green etc are £9000 then I will be going for a cheaper colour as I won't get my money back on that.
What about you?
Yep yellow and green special colours are going to be 9 grand. What about you?
I'm going for brilliant blue.
Just been speaking to my salesman & he believes the pricing & spec will now be announced on the 21st November.
He also thinks the Roadster might be launched before the GTR. Who knows when this car will be coming lol as he says they are not likely to announce the delivery dates on Monday

That's a very nice colour & I could be tempted myself. I also like the black & grey. I'm going for brilliant blue.

I am undecided, from the USA spec sheet I haven't been able create something I am very happy with. Blue is cool, not convinced by the special edition colours, most likely end up with the more mundane silver, black, grey. A matte finish could suit the car well but I remember from a top gear episode it's a pain to maintain.
There are some pictures of a matt grey GT-R floating around on social media. Looks mega.threesixty said:
Spec was emailed out this morning, option for cage and buckets made my mind up for me
Yep got that too. Standard spec is nice, might have to do a bit of carbon though. Saw that option but doubt I will track mine, so won't order the buckets personally. Tricky one for resale.... Are you going for ceramic brakes? Again prob not going for that on mine but can imagine those who want to enjoy it on the track like you threesixty might enjoy it!
How many of you are ordering the ceramic brakes on your AMG GTR? I'm thinking of def going for this option on mine.
Prob won't track it but will appreciate them on the car having had them on my 458 & Huracan + thinking of the resale appeal down the line when I eventually sell her......
Would appreciate your opinions on this.
Thanks

I've specced them but I've never used AMG ceramics so cant compare to porsche/aston/lambo.
I would imagine that these will be fairly insignificant to eventual resale price. As with GT3, some buyers want them and some buyers will actively avoid them.
I would just spec the car you want and forget about it.

I wouldn't bother buying them just to help resale, the car will drop heavily already so to spend more than necessary would be money down the drain (unless you have an early car and sell within the first few weeks)I would just spec the car you want and forget about it.
Fair points Three sixty & Orbtar.
From what I understand we've been told it is in limited numbers & my dealer has about 11+ orders for this model meaning the car should hold its value for some time
The GTS model held a premium for approx 6 months & by month 12 started to sell at list/ just under. At 15-16 months about 10k under list. This should do better from my observations. Like 90% of buyers, I wouldn't buy it if it was going to nose dive straight away.

Mercedes will build too many - that is a fact. GTS commanded a premium for the first month only, cars were advertised near list but the trade would not touch them unless they were way under. I bought mine in May 2015 for £121/122k used it a lot for the first month and then hardly touched it, it was a real struggle to sell as I didn't want to take the trade bids, I finally gave in and sold at £85k in July this year, the car only had 5k on the clock! From what I understand we've been told it is in limited numbers & my dealer has about 11+ orders for this model meaning the car should hold its value for some time

Mercedes have more orders in the UK for the GTR than they have allocations for the next two years. Expect some of those orders to fall off come allocation time but conversely they are still receiving orders and when they begin to hit the roads it'll surely interest more prospective buyers.
I was told 150 cars first year, 180 orders. Phoned a few dealers to make sure and got the same response.
Given that some will be flippers(good luck with that!), some will drop out and others wont like it, I doubt there's enough to sustain a strong residual for more than the first 6 months.
Happy to be proven wrong!
