C63 interim oil change?
Discussion
Hello all!
I've just got back from a 3000 mile euro roadtrip in my C63 (6.2 version) - had a great time and put the car through it's paces.
Booked it into MB for oil change as i thought this would be worthwhile. They said they can do it but would recommend waiting until the next service was due (Jan 2017) or it invalidates warranty etc etc
Should i take it to an indie garage for oil and filter change - or safe to just carry on normal MB servicing schedule?
Cheers

These engines burn quite a lot of oil. Depending on how its driven it will likely need to have at least several litres topped up between scheduled services. Some have reported on other forums even heavier oil consumption than this being considered "normal' by MB. If yours is one of the heavier oil burners you might go close to adding the equivalent of a full oil change between services anyway.

An interim oil change will invalidate the warranty What planet are they on? I've just got back from a 3000 mile euro roadtrip in my C63 (6.2 version) - had a great time and put the car through it's paces.

I've heard some stupid comments from garage staff, but that's one of the better ones.
'Dear Mr Mercedes owner, we regret that we cannot honour your warranty because you've maintained your car and looked after it at a level higher than our requirements' :
As long as the car is serviced according to MB's schedule again in Jan 2017, including another oil and filter change, then it's been serviced according to their schedule.
What next, they'll say it's illegal to put new tyres on until they're down to 3mm.

I took the car to ATS for oil change anyways - sorted.
MB "health check" also said tyres had at least 3mm all round. ATS said the fronts are near the limit so fresh set of pilot super sports going on all round tomorrow.
I'm writing this sat at MSL waiting for secondary cats to be removed

Hi trowlhead,
At msl? Have you gone for a remap too or just secondary cat delete? Whats the difference like? I may consider it in future
Just a secondary cat delete. No remap (yet)At msl? Have you gone for a remap too or just secondary cat delete? Whats the difference like? I may consider it in future
Would recommend. Pretty much keeps the same exhaust note, just louder! (perhaps by 50%)
But it has no drone and is still very quiet in comfort mode, so it's ideal. I would not go any further than this - it's about right for me now.
- Yes it was at MSL - great guys
