Recommend a Roof Box - Evoque Pano Roof
Discussion
Fellow enthusiasts
Whilst a search for the next Vogue to grace my driveway, we are confined to Mrs JJ's evoque dynamic which as we know is woeful in the luggage carrying department
its a 2013 model, dynamic, no roof bars, panoramic roof and I seek your recommendations for a too bar and box setup
So we have to 'clamp on' to the body or is there another way?
I presume Thule and ideally a low profile box - which particular Thule bar and box is wide open - your advice please, including where to purchase said gear

Ive been through the same when I had an Evoque - Got a Disco now -
Go onto roofbox.co.uk, found them the cheapest and huge range of bars and boxes.
If you dont have rails, I hope you have 5 doors or your stuffed as the bars clamp under the top of the doors front and rear. I bought the thule kit and whisper bar (think thats what its called - the wing shaped one), together with a roof box. Not sure you really need a low profile one, bigger it is, the better, just watch the max weight recommendations for the bars, box weighs a bit.
As long as you make sure the paintwork and the rubber pads of the bars are perfectly clean when you put them on, all should be fine with the paintwork.

The Thule bars work really well. Used ours a few times and they are very solid. They do a kit for the coupe as well but not tried it.
You can spend a lot on a roof box - Thule ones are easier to attach to the bars than the cheaper ones, and some open from either side. Worth trying eBay / Facebook sites for secondhand ones.
We were unlucky the last time we used ours. About 10 miles from home after a 12 hour journey back from France, lorry in front of us flicked something up from the road (looked like a bolt). Hit the front edge of the roof box with a hell of a bang. Pano looked OK, but once we got home, realised it had then ricocheted down onto the front edge of the pano roof and smashed the glass right at the edge... The cracks grew ove the next week or so right to the back of the roof and it had to be replaced!
