The C class Estate is more practical but not by as much as you think. Rear seat space is no different to the sedan. You clearly get greater carrying capacity due to the raised roof height but you would be surprised what you still can't get in there. Things get considerably better when you fold down the rear seats, but there can be a fair bit of buggerising around getting that cargo blind in/out, and if you have them, child seats.
I have owned the C63 sedan and currently the facelift C63 Estate. My seat of the pants assessment was that there was no difference in how they handled during everyday driving conditions. The ride is probably firmer in the Estate (but I should preface this by saying I have the 19 inch wheels on the Estate, and had 18s in the sedan). The difference in ride could well be due to different suspension set up between Estate and Sedan, and between pre and post facelift versions of the C63. For what it is worth I get more inside tread wear on the front tyres with the Estate, but this could be due to the wider 19s.
I reckon exhaust noise (and general road noise) is increased in the Estate, which of course makes complete sense. The downside is that with the subwoofer all the way back near the rear door and behind the rear wheel well I reckon sound quality is not as good as in the sedan.

Sounds fine to me, no child seats to worry about, the extra space will be dogs or holiday bags smile
