Not sure how old the the MB specialist wiki above is but I'm looking for advice on indy servicing in the SE London/Surrey/Middlesex areas please.
I noted DDR in Surrey - does anoyone have any experience with them?
Cheers
I just spotted this and popped a post up early about DDR as I had my CLS63 serviced by them yesterday. Excellent service mate. Nice bunch too. I noted DDR in Surrey - does anoyone have any experience with them?
Cheers

I'd happily recommend Anton at TM Motors in West Molesey (near Hampton court)
Family business with a good selection of modern and classic mercs being worked on
He's a good chap but only works Monday to Friday which is a real pain. Not cheap either so worth having simple stuff done elsewhere and use him when the specialist is required. Family business with a good selection of modern and classic mercs being worked on

So, thanks for this. I popped into them unannounced for a look around and a quote.. There was a mechanic under a classic SL, he was right under the fuel tank and had a fag hanging out of his mouth! I don't care if the tank was drained (I see no reason why it would have been for changing the shocks). The boss was away which may explain it but I won't taking my Mercs to these guys.

I had a bad experience with TM Motors so I will never ever use them again. The kind of "bad" which makes you think "bunch of cowboys!"
Ian in Star Motors, Reading and Ollie at Prestige Car Services in Horndean, Portsmouth are highly recommended amongst MB afficionados.

That is shocking from Ian.
TM Motors were similarly bad to me. I had to a get new windscreen wiper and back in the day, you could not buy from Halfords because of the size so it was £100 from TM Motors. The owner/manager then charged me £105. I asked why the increase. He said he had to charge me something for fitting it even though it sounded like a kind gesture at the time when he offered to fit it (I thought he was doing it for free, I could have done that myself, it took two minutes). Next day, I'm on the motorway, it rains, auto-sensors come on that windscreen wiper is doing its job. But then I see it is scratching up the window with an arc. I found out that he had not fitted it properly.
I go back to him to ask him to put this right since he had charged me for installing the wiper and he had not done it properly. He tells me to f**k off.
An update...
I've been happy with Merc One in Hanwell for my Merc servicing since around 2003 but due to ownership changes last summer I reluctantly decided to move hence my original post.
Following a few phone calls/quotes/site visits I've ended up with TM Motors in West Molesey. I'm a fussy sod with my motors and will walk unless I get good service TM Motors gets my vote and have since serviced both cars perfectly and to a reasonable cost. Recommended
The work needed was a B service + brake fluid change + Panoramic roof lube (C350)+ replace plugs (C63) + all filters changed.
My findings are below, along with personal comments, in case anyone is looking for Merc servicing in the SW London/Surrey area.

sorry to hijack the thread but a new AMG CLA 45 owner and its due its first 10k service (service A). Getting quoted just shy of £600 by the dealer! seems very steep and I've owned Audi S4, Evo X, etc before. My memory is short but I really don't remember paying that kind of cash on a first service.
