Bit of a dilemma, which would be the better buy?

50k mile 2008 C63 PP

or

70k mile 2011 C63 Facelift no PP (LSD)

Early car at £24k - later car at £25k.

Planning on keeping it for 6-8 months and will probably cover about 5k miles. Is the later MCT box much better than the earlier 7G? Will I miss the LSD if I don't get one that has it? Most important is which will be the easiest to sell on. Would many people choose an early PP car over a later non-PP?

Cheers.

Facelift all day - the interior is miles ahead compared to the post facelift car and the gearbox is also worlds better. I havent got an LSD on my facelift and in the real world i dont think you'd notice having one unless your giving it death everywhere..plenty of threads on that though!

However - if your only keeping a C63 for short term, then you may aswell save a few few £k and go for the cheaper non facelift car. I doubt you'd loose much in 6-8 months if your selling on that quick..?

thanks

Interesting point but most of the cheaper C63's have pretty high miles which doesn't really bother me but in the mileage obsessed UK it will probably put of potential buyers.

You realise that the 2008 PP is not the same as the PPP? Just checking!

Feel free to search for the differences, or ask here,

Yeah I know the non-facelift PP doesn't have the slightly more powerful engine but it's got the bigger brakes, stiffer suspension and most importantly the LSD which makes a big difference to some people.

Do all facelift C63's have the MCT box or do some still have the 7G?

Thanks for the help.

PP discs are no better than the standard or PPP discs if im honest. Just more expensive.

All facelift C63s have the MCT box. The 7G-Tronic was a pre FL box. Beware the stiffer suspension on UK roads.

PPP isn't just more powerful, it's also better built with lighter internals. A mapped non PPP is only as quick as a stock PPP thanks to the weight differences inside the lump.

A facelift PPP is about £7k above my budget so the comparison is between a fully kitted low mileage early car in my favourite colour combo or an early facelift non-ppp car with no LSD and higher miles.

The interior is a bit nicer in the facelift car but I'm used to riding a Ducati so the interior is a step up from that regardless!

Is the box a night and day difference? I've never driven an MCT car but have experience with the 7G.

Thanks.

I bought a C63 PP 2011 pre facelift estate 2 years ago with 67k on it for 26 and was fantastic, could have had 10k on it... I would opt for the newer car and retro fit LSD and a map will take it to over 500 bhp safely

Gearbox is a major step on as was handling balance. Facelift turned the C63 into a proper M3 competitor dynamically. Pre-facelift was even more of a muscle car.

Don't worry about the diff, you can get a better than stock Quaife item installed for around 1200 quid. There are a couple of facelift cars with lower miles available for not much more than 25k. Negotiate hard and you might nab one within budget. It will have to be a Non PP saloon though.

I'm torn now :-(

Does the 125 edition have the MCT box because every advert on AutoTrader says they have the 7G but they're all facelifts.

Relax - this is a nice position to be in!

All facelift cars have the newer gearbox.

What's the easiest way to tell if the car is the facelifted version or not?

Pre FL has the fold out satnav screen. FL has a screen built in and on display all the time. FL also has S+ box modes.

Thanks. The satnav makes it easy to tell now I reckon my budget borders on the facelift version.
