Does anyone know when this is going to be available, and whether it be available with 7 seats?

Saloon goes in to production in December, and I think the estate is close behind it. No 7 seat option on the new E Class

I'm sure I've read the estate is going to be available with 7 seats at some point, just wondering if that will extend to AMG. Surprised by December, thought it was coming out this year? Damn. Thanks!

That's from the product bulletin they sent us (I sell MB). I've not heard anything about 7 seats on the AMG models, I think 7 seat option comes in at some stage next year so that may change

Why do they make us wait so long! The Panamera shooting brake might be out by then...and that will make the decision a lot harder.

Will it be available as an E430 (i.e. without the embarrassing AMG crap)?

I hear where you're coming from but it's surely very unlikely. The only manufacturer not playing the sporty game is Volvo whose new products seem closer to the old spirit of Mercedes than Mercedes themselves.

In Germany you can get an E400 4 Matic in Exclusive trim. It has the same powertrain as the E43 AMG but with much less aggressive body styling (although it still has fake exhausts and cheap tinsel). It seems it is only MBUK which confines the market to Max Power spec.

We were told at launch that there would be no petrol E Class coming to the UK bar E350e and AMG product as there's very little demand for it over here. It's a shame as I drove the E200 petrol, and it was much better than I expected it to be. I've got more fleet managers telling me there starting to put petrol back on company car listings too, so hopefully they may change their mind. I'd like them too, as I fancy a C300 estate as a demo biggrin

I bought a new e350d non-amgblingline in 2012 just before the face lift.

Since then Merc seem to have totally fecked up the spec list and optioning (as in you can only get stuff as part of very expensive 'packages' which includes things you don't want). To the extent that I can't see myself buying another Merc.

Sad really...
